Seattle trying to assemble a new legion of boom...a great day for Adams as he gets to leave the Jete and play with Russell Wilson

Oh yeah huge upgrade for Adams. And with that pricetag used to acquire him you’d have to figure the Seahawks have no problem making him the highest paid S in the league.

What a haul.

Good news for us if Bill ever wants to deal Gilmore.

I love Adams but I wonder if anyone here thinks this is a smart trade for Seattle?

I have never heard of a player having anything negative to say about Pete Carroll so maybe Adams will shut up and play.

Provided the Seahawks give him a record breaking contract.
I 99% agree lol but what about that “call”...?

Unless he himself (Adams) is directly involved in a pick-6/FF in at least 2-3 SB victories in the near future, then no. And even then, it’s still quite the ransom..

Adams is an appreciating asset as he’s very young and still still on a cheap deal (for now)

Gilmore is on a much larger deal and is hitting 30. He will be a depreciating asset as time goes on unfortunately.

Seattle probably overpaid to get their guy. Jets actually made a good trade considering they had minimal leverage and everyone knew they had to get rid of Adams.
Adams is a very good player but in my view nowhere near worth 2 first round picks and a third.

Gonna miss his play on the field. Dude is legit.

With that said... holy crap is that a haul in return.

And a decent safety from Seattle as well.

With Mosley and Williamson both back at MLB (both injured last year), suppose a great SS was a bit of a luxury anyway.

Wow.

Adams is a fantastic player. Fits what Seattle looks for. Versatile, smart & brings attitude every snap. Very well rounded.

Jets get a haul. Two 1st & 3rd is QB type returns. You have to make it count tho. Proven-Star players > Draft picks all day. Have to make it work tho, Adams is a top 30-50 player in the league.

Back to Seattle. They're taking the Billy Beane approach to trades. Idc what I'm giving up, only what I'm getting. I love that philosophy but it's a tight rope to walk 24/7.
Again Adams is a great fit for their system, coaches. Adams in a Kam-type role will be fierce. A lot more versatile but tough as they come.

Yea just wow. Jets have a lot to rebuild with except a legit HC. If they did Adams would still be in green & white.

Seattle gets a dog. Anyone that thinks he's a "box" S needs to take another look. He's an impact player on all 3 levels. Seattle's defense just got a lot better. Esp in coverage imo. Run defense was bad but they were 15th in pass def and already have a few pieces in place. I wouldn't be shocked to see a little jump.

Price is too high but I understand why Seattle did it. They feel set on offense, hopefully allowing Wilson more freedom. They add another blue chip player next to Wagner. Still have Wright, Flowers, Griffin & a few other pieces to work with.

That division is tough as hell but not out of reach at all. They obviously feel like they're right there on the cusp so why not?

Actual football news is tremendous!

Gilmore will be traded next offseason if things go the way I expect.

Adams is a safety while Gilmore is the best corner in the league. Someone will bite.

Seahawks fans seem pissed and I don't blame them. 2 first rounders and you have to pay a huge contract to keep him.

Yup. That contract thing seems to be overlooked. Jets were looking at two potentially massive deals coming up for Jamal n Sam.

They shed one, and hopefully picked up 2 good players for a few years cheap (2 first rounders).

Pete the Cleaner still facking the NEP...we hate you too ,douchebag. You got cleaned out....moron.

While simultaneously remembering that “we also have no 1st rounders until at least 2023..”

Because of the draft pick haul? They still have to hit on the picks, which are likely to be in the 25-30 range. That is no sure thing, just ask browns fans. This makes the Seattle game more challenging (although I still like their chances without the 12th man in Seattle) but also makes the Jets less dangerous x 2 this year.

Great player but seems like a lot to give up for a SS who is somewhat suspect in coverage, and who wants a huge contract before his rookie deal is up )with a probable $23 million drop in the 2021 cap. He hits and blitzes like prime Rodney but doesn't have his coverage abilities.

Didn’t know this..

Jamal Adams and JJ Watt are the only players in NFL history with 200+ tackles, 10+ sacks & 25+ PBU within their first 3 seasons.

Especially one that is not particularly sound in coverage. Talk about overpaying.. and yet people keep somehow bring up John Schneider as some kind of great GM. He nailed two drafts almost 10 years ago and then squandered a dynastic backbone with trades like this or for Harvin.
This.

And to extrapolate : people bash BB for his skills as GM... but rarely do they fully analyse « the better GMs ». If they did, this very trade is some of what they’d find.
