DRAFT Patriots OFFICIAL Draft Day thread - Night 1

Unless you are drafting a guy you are confident no one else likes, there is simply no way you can ever be confident he will be there 14 picks later. Now, if they move back up in the second round, yes they targeted a guy, but if not they are just moving back and taking the best player available.

That's what I'm saying....if you are to take a Schefter's words literally, they could be targeting a guy that most teams have rated as a late 2nd or 3rd round guy, which would make me sad and would throw this thread off of the rails.

I still can't get over the amazing dis that the Packers just delivered to Rodgers.

@Manx,

I'm definitely dropping Miami down after that last pick.

Jeff Gladney to the Vikings. They needed a CB, but I'm not sure this was the right pick there.

What's the record on most CBs in the first? Impressive amount of players taken so far.

Hopefully a run on DBs, lol

Andy Reid with the Boogaloo shirt on.

KC is in a good spot this year but they will be blown up next year. A lot of Bills coming due.

Odds KC picks offense here just cause who needs defense?

Andy Reid with the Boogaloo shirt on.

K.C.'s needs/tendencies line up with the top prospects left on the board. So look for that short to be dancing as Andy chuckles with happiness.

Please....don't take Winfield.

Swift would make an enormous amount of sense for KC. I'm curious to see where they go with this pick. They're already scary on offense, but if they added Hamler, that would be something else! No one could match that speed.

They are already tight vs. the cap without accounting for Chris Jones....and Mahomes.....

Copied from pats subreddit.

2016: Cyrus Jones - lmao, gone
Joe Thuney - great pick
Jacoby Brissett - decent pick, traded
Vincent Valentine - gone
Malcolm Mitchell - out of league
Elandon Roberts - ok pick, gone
Ted Karras - good pick, gone

Picks that benefit us in 2020 - 1

2017: Derek Rivers - Bust
Antonio Garcia - waste of a pick
Deatrich Wish - decent player
Conor McDermott - who?
Total picks - 4
Picks that benefit us in 2020 - 1

2018: Isaiah Wynn - Injury Prone, decent player
Sony Michel - Injury Prone, not very good
Duke Dawson - lol, traded
Ja’Whaun Bentley - Injury Prone
Total Picks - 9
Picks that benefit us in 2020 - 3 if they can stay healthy. Sony isnt anything special and we still havent really seen anything from Bentley. I dont even know what to say about this draft. Just bad decisions all around.

2019: N’Keal Harry - injury prone, we’ll see
JoeJuan Williams - havent seen enough
Chase Winovich - ok player, we’ll see
Damien Harris - RB depth, unproven
Yodny Cajuste - probably injury prone
Hjalte Froholdt - probably injury prone
Jake Bailey - good pick
Total picks - 10
Picks that benefit us in 2020 - too early to tell. Lots of injury prone guys here though. Bailey is great though.

Total players drafted since 2014 - 52
Total good draft picks since 2014 - 15 including the 2019 draft guys since its too early to tell could be lower depending on how Cajuste and Froholdt do.
Conclusion - we have had **** drafting for a while now.

Maybe, but since your post makes no comparisons to other teams, we don't know how many others did better or worse, do we...

Booger: At the 32nd pick the Chiefs will make the 32nd pick of this draft.

Uh, the draft value charts are an informal consensus agreed to by the league to facilitate trades. So the entire league has no clue -- but you do?

You got it.
