BB had planned for him to be a starter this year. If they resign him at an adjusted rate that would be nice.
I think the idea was for him to be the swing tackle, not a starter.

For those wondering why we played Newhouse instead of this potential option, I have to imagine he didn't change his mind about retirement until very recently. Otherwise this release would have happened before now. And as bad as Newhouse has been, he's at least in game shape. I'd rather keep him as the swing tackle (and still pray for health) than start over with a guy who up until last week was mentally done with football.
What if he does not want to play for Dante/BB?If he plays a single down for any other team I will consider this a BB blunder simply due to the fact that it is not possible to be worse than Newhouse

I think I have the flu but this makes the most sense to me.BB probably just released him for no reason just like he released Gordon and traded Thomas for no reason. Sometime he just says “what the heck, it’s slow, might as well do something.”
He was going to start over Wynn and Cannon?
Seems like to me, working for the Patriots was too hard for him so he retired and then waited until our starting LT was back to unretire and collect a paycheck.

Huh? No he didn't. Who was he going to start in place of?
