Rosen to Dolphins rumors.

So, Rosen was picked a player who would hopefully start leading a team as a franchise QB, and was picked then at #10.

He has developed so badly that he is now only worth a low second? I don't buy it.

You are worth whatever your stock is at the time of the trade. If a team is willing to use a #10 and then move on a year later it creates a narrative. I would not be surprised if he can be had for something in the 40-60 range. That is if the Cardinals really are potentially moving on and this is not just a media creation for the sake of drama.

Even if they get Murray, AZ can keep Rosen until such time as they get an acceptable offer.
IMO, it would be negligence on the part of their GM to panic and take a 40-60 in the 2019 draft. There should be no pressure to dump Rosen. A GM might even keep Rosen for insurance, and trade him in camp or even later for a 2020 pick.

I happened to like Rosen a lot in the last draft. I thought he was the 3rd best QB after Mchomes and Mayfield. Now I'm wondering if our first (#32) could be the best offer that Arizona gets, IF they are truly willing to trade him.

That could be a realistic deal IF the Pats believe Rosen is that much better than anything they could pick up in the draft this year AND the next, given they are still likely to be drafting in the final 4 of the first round.

Supposedly next year's QB draft is supposed to be a lot better than this year's group. But it doesn't matter for the Pats if there are 5 or 6 top picks next year and NONE of them are still there when the Pats draft. That's why I think Rosen could really be a bargain for the #32 pick.

That would still leave us with 5 picks in the first 100 in a draft where there will still be real value in that range....reportedly AZ will be able to placate their fans by selling them on the idea that they got back a "#1 pick" even if it's #32

But I guess it all comes down to how you rate Rosen and if his crappy year was more a function of a horrible OL and bad coaching, than the he's just a bad QB. I'm really not one to predict. Remember I was beating the table hard for the Pats to draft Kyle Lauletta last season (my college coach's grandson) ;)

I’d honestly rather us use #32 in some way that enables us to get Fromm next year, trade back or whatever that may be.

I've seen Drew Lock rated anywhere from top 10 to dropping into the second round.
Same with Daniel Jones.
Clayton Thorson anywhere from sneaking into the 1st to third round.
I'm intrigued by Thorson because he has a unique skill set and has shown he can put the team on his back and win.

Thorson has really good value in this draft, I’m thinking he’s a mid rounder but should be drafted closer to the 2 others you mentioned.

I hate Miami

Not trading up in the first for a QB, when TB12 will be here 3 years after.

Use those assets to strengthen the weapons Brady has, while he's here to win #7, and #8.

They tried to trade up to get mayfield. I do agree with you though and would get weapons now. We already have etling. I could see them trying something with as many picks , they could do both

Mayfield was an exception...there is no Mayfield in this draft.
And for all those "Rosen" fans, I don't recall any rumors of moving up for, that. We could have, AND didn't. Thank God.

I will trust Josh and Bill to find the guy I'm starting to warm up to Rypien in the middle rounds.
I almost want to double dip draft 2 mid round guys and see who develops.
Could you imagine Tom with 2 young guys gunning for his job?
He will destroy records.
Whatever QB we draft I want them to have the attitude they can learn from Tom then take his job .
Same attitude he had towards Drew.
That's the winner mentality.

Rosen will never be the guy TB12 is worried about "gunning for his job" I'd bet on it. He ain't gonna be here, nor should he be.

Maybe Rypien has one Super Bowl win in him, like his uncle.

Someone on here posted highlights of Thorson (might have even been you) and I was concerned about his arm strength.

This was in response to someone suggesting using the #32 for Rosen. Sure, give TB12 the best supporting cast to win, but if we are going to look at drafting a QB, i'd prefer we look at someone like Fromm (who isn't going to be the #1 QB next year) rather than someone like Rosen or Thorson for example.

I think the Cards would relish picks for their new regime. Rosen was an experiment led by a lame duck coaching department and 45 sacks later, Rosen is now damaged merchandise. The Cards Fans might have already soured on Rosen. With new front office blood, Murray makes sense but get what you can for Rosen. If he sits on the bench is his worth more?
Knowing the Pats had interest in Mayfield and Rosen, why would the Pats not try a fishing expedition and make a top pick say second rounder for Rosen. This makes the new Cards F.O. look good and move away from a player that was not "their" pick.
The have ten picks going into the Draft (4 Comps in lower rounds) They need talent badly, Trade Rosen and package some of that lower inventory to move the highest you can add.

Sure, the pats should try getting Rosen for a 2nd rounder. They should try getting him for a compensatory 3rd rounder.

I just think that someone else will offer more that #56.

I'm not sure anyone is going to give a 1st for Rosen. A 2nd maybe, but not a 1st.

If the cost on Rosen is cheap or reasonable, and the Pats like the tape on the kid, they should consider trading for him if he's indeed available. I know leading up to last years draft there was talk that the Pats wanted to trade up for him. Most of the predraft chatter is Fake News, so who knows if their interest was legit or not.
