AFC Championship: We are on to Kansas City!

This is what Pats homers do. Suddenly the opposing team which may very well have had a better season both statistically and record wise than the Pats is overrated.

I've got nothing but respect for the Patriots and what they have accomplished. And I didn't come here to fight. I'm just trying to add some Chiefs perspective. We are fantastic offensively, marginal defensively. That's not rocket surgery. It's a good matchup and should be fun. I'm glad the forecast is improving

He's 10th in the league in yards and tied for 6th in receiving TDs. He just set the single season receiving yardage record for a tight end. I don't think you can say he's not elite. And our quarterback just became the 2nd ever 5000/50 quarterback and is probably the MVP. Also elite.

You can keep calling him a TE all you want but if that someone is so bad at blocking that he is a borderline liability then he is nothing else but a big slot WR. And if you look at his stats through the prism of being a WR he is nothing special or unique. He is somewhere in the top 20 which is still nice.

Let me know when he actually can block a DE or even DL in the run game and doesn't get handled by LBs.

Well if every offensive weapon the Chiefs have aside from Hill is overrated that just means that Mahomes is that much more talented because he’s able to elevate the rest of his offense not too dissimilar to what Brady’s done for 2 decades.

Mahomes benefits from the Andy Reid offense. He is the ideal QB for that. It is the marriage of offensive design and the QB that elevates the Chiefs.

Fine, he’s not a tight end then. But he’s an elite receiver.

If you don't like fights you wouldn't like Boston. We're a pugnacious bunch. Might be the lousy weather...and all the drinking.

The Chiefs D is better at home because of the huge home field advantage. It's so loud there that offenses have trouble with cadences, snaps, going offside, audibles, etc. How could that NOT aid the defense? Of course it is better.
The Chiefs D is better at home because they have good players

I am not familiar with this discipline...

Some truth here, but you could easily argue the Pats defense has improved more. I guess the point I was making is TB12 is going to light up KC on Sunday, that's a given. So it really comes down to our defense winning some 3rd downs and making them punt a few times. If KC scores, let's say 30, Pats still win Sunday.
Why is that a given? Teams generally don't light it up in subfreezing temps!

I wonder if the Chiefs having Williams instead of Hunt will change some of the distribution. They had Williams in for a visit so they kinda know exactly what he can and can't do.

We just got done putting up 35 points in one half against a better defense than KC features, in subfreezing temps, literally just a few days ago.

But the reason it's a given is because TB12 is money in the playoffs and he will murder KC's defense on Sunday. The key for the Pats is forcing a few punts on defense. If it becomes a free-for-all shootout, it could go either way on a dime.

You seem to be having difficulty with the concept of the difference between not as terrible as you think vs good. The 49ers when we played them had Garoppalo still btw and were still highly regarded and undefeated.

When you played the 49ers they were 1-2.

And they leave those players home when they go on the road?

Do the Pats? Because we suck on the road.

How the hell are people just ignoring that the Pats have SUCKED ON THE ROAD. It matters! Unless you want to throw out the regular season in which case you HAVE to throw out the Chiefs performance too!

It took 43pts at home, and a last sec gw fg to win the game. And this time the Pats arent going to be penalty free like they have been at home. No more Jordan rules this time....

Pats this season have been a different team on the road.

KC defense been a different unit at home, and for the better. Def allows avg 17ppg.

This is the healthiest KC been all season. Justin Houston, Eric Berry will both be playing. Scrubs like Josh Shaw, Orlando Scandrick, Ron Parker, Breeland Speaks wont be on the field for Brady to exploit this time.

KC will finally have their entire OL healthy too.

Sucks losing Hunt because in his short career with KC he really raped the Pats a new one especially in passing game, but thats water under the bridge at this point. Damien Williams has filled in nicely, much better than expected and should be perceived as a threat even though he probably won't be (which for KC may be a good thing).

KC starting OL will finally be 100% healthy across the board. And they may have found themselves a new LG, who dominated last wkn.

My main concern is Chiefs need to stop run and underneath game. Thats all Pats have on offense, but they're good at it. Brady isnt chucking the rock downfield. Its gonna be a cold one, he'll get the ball out fast on short and intermediate stuff attempt to take Houston, Jones, Ford out of game and will dink n dunk all game.

I just dont think itll be enough.

And there isnt anyone on Pats D that's gonna stop Tyreek Hill.

Chiefs 34 Pat's 20

OT: Just an unsolicited opinion from someone who, while frequenting this board for the last decade plus, but has tended to stay out of the X's and O's discussions.....

If you want your opinion taken seriously, using "raped" in a sports context isn't gonna cut it.

Just my 2 cents. YMMV
