Well, I don't think so but imagine if Revis won another superbowl with the Pats and the effect on Jet fan psyche.
Maybe as an assistant equipment manager?

No I don't think he will be back. Nor would I want him. We've learned over the years that Belichick doesn't tend to take contract negotiations personally or hold a grudge to the the degree that they would get in the way of making the team better but Revis is no longer good enough to make him worth it forgiving some of things he said and did after running back to the Jets. There are numerous articles on the internet about the Jets options after Revis's altercation, with most of them concluding he will be cut.
Lost in a few the articles are the fact that Revis was planning to work harder than ever this offseason and had offered to take a pay cut, switch positions if necessary, and do whatever is necessary to stay in the league and not go out put as a washed up player.
Hmmmmm....
You know Revis has a huge ego and will feel like the Jets anandoned him, hanging him out to dry and leaving his HoF chances in jeopardy.
Defensive backs are expensive. It is easy to say "Revis sucks" or can't play corner anymore due to his age (though part of his poor play was from injuries, too.) I am skeptical he could just "play safety". But what about a one year deal in the $3-4M range where he could play, say, 25 snaps a game, maybe as a third-down or red zone specialist. I think if anything he was overused in NY and couldn't possibly cover number one corners the entire game with little safety help. But what about in a reduced role as a situational player who will be rested and playing with a chip on his shoulder? If the Jets cut him, you know he would like nothing more than to stick it to that organization. And remember Belichick's philosophy: buy low. The question is if Revis really has anything left. Let's not pretend that we really know for sure what's happened to his play for the last year and whether or not he is truly just cooked.
Do you have the same guy as Welker? Because that looked like some good stuff just judging solely by how he looked acted. And if you're just coming down from a Super Bowl roll that's got to be the all time extra purity strength stuff.I am not confident enough in my own case to argue that.
Just sayin'....
I don't even know....just bored and coming down from my Super Bowl ecstasy (state of mind.)
hahaha. Give OP some credit for creative thinking.
To my mind, it's not entirely impossible, but so many things have to happen first.
Would BB bring him back under these circumstances? Yeah, maybe.
- Jets have to cut him and eat the cap hit
- He is fully healthy, even if declining
- He has a chip on his shoulder and fire in his belly (which we didn't see last time he was here)
- He signs for the vet minimum
- Pats lose Ryan and Harmon to free agency
(1) might happen, and would be hysterical, ironic and so layered in schadenfreude that I don't think I could bear it. (2) is likely. (3) if the experience of the last few years has shifted his life priorities away from making as much money as possible, to securing his legacy. (4) if he decides he's still living off the signing bonus from the Jets contract, and his priorities have changed. (5) who can say.
What makes the idea fascinating to me is the opportunity for BB to get one more dig in at the Jets organization, once again proving that he's a football savant.
Looking back, first he signs Revis after Tampa cuts him, brings him a SB ring, and rehabilitates his reputation as a player. Then, he chooses not to get into a bidding war and lets the Jets lure Revis away (with some tampering likely) for a ridiculously overpriced contract. He is widely criticized for "wasting" Brady's best years in not retaining Revis. Instead, he takes the 3rd round compensatory pick, which becomes Vincent Valentine, who's playing well and looks like a fixture at DT.
And now, casting forward from today, when Revis underperforms the Jets contract and is famously released for being all washed up, BB brings him back to Foxboro at a price and into a role that makes sense from both a football and a financial perspective, when no other team will touch him. And proves (yet again) that Revis has something left in the tank after all if used correctly.
That would be poetic and artful. And totally worth is.
Still, fantasy aside, this is clearly a long shot. I struggle to believe that Revis will ever be a team-first player. I think BB is happy to have let that rental walk away. I wouldn't trade Valentine for Revis straight up.
