His less than sincere pretense about caring about the fans is one thing.
His love of the Goodell is another.
Now he clowns himself of concussions.

Asked if he had seen the report, Kraft replied, "Have you seen the NFL's reaction to that?"

"I'll just say this," Kraft continued, "any contact sport, whether it's women's soccer, hockey or football, there are going to be concussions. I'll tell you this, that I think the game has never been safer from an equipment point of view, from a medical point of view. I know I played, two of my sons played, my three grandsons play so we have three generations playing the game, and I think the life lessons that you get playing football are worth the risk."

Kraft: Life lessons from playing football are worth the risk

Its time to keep him away from cameras and mics.

Great timing too, on the day Kevin Turner's three kids who lost their 46 y/o father.
No Kevin Turner banging his head into whatever is in front of him 300 times a season as a lead blocker is just the same as women's soccer. Bob says so, and Roger told him.

Andy, as much as I agree that Bob needs to bow out and turn things over to Jonathan, this really isn't an outrageous sentiment. As someone who played football in school, I agree with him.

Not sure how you agree that playing football is the same as womens soccer with respect to head injuries. Of course he went on to defend the NFLs ludicrous response to the concussion issue as well.
Kraft is echoing the NFLs positions on concussions, and that is an embarrassment.

I also don't think this quote is that bad. I think he's right that the sport is safer than it's ever been, he's right that you're pretty darn likely to get a concussion in other sports too (though perhaps not AS likely), and he's speaking from personal experience about life lessons... I don't really think he sounds too bad here.

You can debate what he said but with news coming out in the last 24 hours that a 46 y/o former Patriot lost his life almost certainly because he played football as well the NFL manipulating data regarding concussions, maybe Bob should just STFU.

That's the second time in a few days that Bob has publicly said something to support goodell and/or the NFL

I wonder if he was surprised when Chris Russo mentioned that the other owners said that they didn't like him, and now he's trying to get back in the good graces of the Billionaire's Club so that he can sit at the big boy table again

Not sure Kraft is drawing a 1:1 comparison with those other sports. It feels like he's attempting to minimize the damage his sport is taking by showing that other sports also have concussion risks. It's not really an effective strategy.

Actually, I was surprised to learn that the data suggests there isn't a wide gap in the incidence of concussion between soccer and football. I do believe the overall injury rate is higher in football but not necessarily concussions. Also...there is no scientific link between CTE and ALS. Separate issues. I don't mean to minimize the risk of football (my son won't be playing), but Kraft's statement here is fine to me. Now I have major problems with the way he handled deflate gate but that is another matter entirely.

This will sound crazy unless you think it through, but if you really want to reduce concussions in Football you need to ban contact all together...which would be unwatchable.

You agree with him based on what you currently think the risks are. The NFL has been working hard behind the scenes to keep you (and everyone else) from learning what the true risks are.

If the rate of post-football debilitating injuries from head trauma is twice as bad as you think it it, is it still worth it? Ten times as bad? Until the NFL stops with the smoke screen, the deceiving, the inveigling, the obfuscating, we just don't know what the true risks are.

Pardon me, but I'm sick of all this criticism of Kraft. He has brought us a decade of great teams, great seasons and great memories. If results are the measure, no other owner comes close to him. And yet in this thread and others, people criticize him as though they are insiders who know exactly what he's thinking, and not just insiders, but wiser men than he. For those who persist, please prepare to match your accomplishments with his. Otherwise, shut the hell up.

Success in business doesn't give a free pass for immorality. The NFL is sabotaging research about the effect of concussions. That's some evil ****, and Kraft, after his comments, is certainly complicit. The true measure of a man is in his relationships, contributions to the world, adherence to morality and his effect on those around him/her. The amount of wealth they achieve by death isn't even part of the equation. For the record I'm not one of the Kraft bashers, but there's no excuse for his comments.

Kraft is a businessman - he's just trying to sell his sport. What's he supposed to say, "football is unsafe don't play it?"
So the NFL is scum for lying about the concussion issue, but Kraft is just a businessman when he does the same thing?
