This game has TRAP written all over it! But I think we will see lots more running in this one.

WTF? how can you say that?? The Bills are 2-0 and this is a division game. No way this can be considered that.

Last week Buff got SCORCHED in passing yards

ppl say Run D is terrible 4 them. We establish the Run then TFB and us PATRIOT fans will be having lots of FUN watching the record being set by TFB for 400 yds plus x 3 games consecutively. Can you say play ACTION and screens? :) If Buffs Run D is terrible... I know for a fact their Pass D is not good at all:)

i see the JAX game being easy for the panthers, and so they will have attained an easy lead

but instead of holding it by running, they will have Cam go for the record

so he will pass for over 400

we, im not so sure about, i believe we can run pretty well against the bills....if it turns out we cant, than 400 wont be a problem

Seriously.

It's like so many people ignore the fact that 400+ yards passing means the QB is either losing, or in the middle of a shootout.

Also, most players on that 500-yard-game QB list? They lost the game despite throwing for 500.

Not true; of the 11 QBs that have passed for 500 yards, 6 have won their games.

In fact, it's only in the last five years that you see QBs throwing for tons of yards because they're way behind: historically, 56% of 400-yard games have been wins, but, since 2006, only about 1/3 of 400-yard games have been wins.

After watching the Bills game and the Pats game last week, I'd be mildly surprised if Brady didn't throw for 400.

That said, I don't get why people are being negative about this. Seeing Brady set yet another passing record would be pretty cool. You don't have to choose between setting passing records over a couple-game span early in the year when NFL teams are scoring at a record pace OR having a tough team that can win Super Bowls. Yeah, I get it, Brady didn't pass for a ton of yards in 2001, but guess what? The 2001 Patriots wouldn't win the SB in 2010- the league has changed too much. Instead of complaining about how unfortunate we are to have the most prolific quarterback in the NFL, let's appreciate what we have and enjoy the quality of play that we get watch every week.

You have a very strange definition of the word "most". Also, I wouldn't categorize either of the Pats' two wins as shootouts, and they didn't have to meaningfully come from behind (down 7 after one possession doesn't count) in either of them. A QB throwing for 500 yards means that the QB torched the opposing defense. No more, no less.

I'd much rather see 200 yards rushing by the Pats.

Precisely. Beat me to it.
I voted that TB does 400 but I'd much prefer a game managed 24-13 win, Bills finally scoring a TD with 4 minutes to go with TB going two hundred something yds through the air.

I'd also like to see our #2 QB in the 4th QTR as Tom sits on the bench.

I voted Neither but if had to choose I choose Newton

Buffalo is at home and that crowd will be going wild and I think their defense will make things difficult to hear signals and performance may drop to about 250 Yards or so for Tom IMO

As far as Cam,I doubt it, but he is playing at home and the Jags have one of the worst secondaries in the league.

I'd say probably neither. Brady surprisingly only has 3 400+ games in his career(although he's been really close a bunch more times). So I'd say odds are against it and cam's going to cool off at some point. I say Brady goes for 225 this week and BGJE run for 125 and a pair of touchdowns and pats run for over 200.

Both. We're no longer in the era when having a lot of passing yards means you had to come from behind. Teams are intentionally going ultra pass heavy, because that's what's winning in the league right now.

Teams will slow down the passing frenzy once the bad weather sets in

Brady loves to throw in the snow so I am not sure what will transpire when it comes down to cold or bad weather situations.

The Raiders were missing their top 3 receivers, and Campbell still put up more than 300 against the Bills.

Brady will go out of his way to do this, and I do not think it will be tough for him to do. Hernandez, or no Hernandez it's going to happen.

I'd like to see him break 400this weekend just so he'll be that much closer to Marino's single season passing yards record.

I want more SBs AND TFB to rewrite the record books

OMG so if TFB puts up under 400 yards you mean we'll be plagued by "Campbell Newest QB Better Than Brady" threads

I'm not negative about it, I simply don't care. Yeah, sure, records are cool, especially to fans, I get that. But after we were spoiled by the early decade there isn't a single record I could care about, apart from maybe being the first team to win 3 super bowls in a row. If Brady breaks every passing record in existance on his way to doing so, great, I'll cheer for every damn one of them, but if he doesn't break another one in his career, oh well. Win us another Super Bowl. That's all I want from this team at this point, they've done everything there is to do, we've seen top defenses, historic offenses, historic turnover differentials, record winning streaks, remarkable come backs, unthinkable blow-outs, should I go on?

Like I said, I think records are cool and all, but even as a fan I don't care about them right now. Brady can throw forr 150 yards for the rest of the season as long as we win it all.

edit: And I don't think Brady can't put up 400 against the Bills, I'm just saying that I don't think he will. We've annhiliated them on the ground recently and the running game is always put on display in Buffalo due to the high winds in that stadium. I just see no evidence that will change this year, regardless of how many passing yards Oakland put up on them. Their whole defense is a weakness, not just the passing D. I do think that if they get a lead on us early Brady may make history, however, if we score on our opening posession and hold them to 3 or less early then we'll see our first 100 yard rusher of the season.

If the Patriots struggle early, you could read that in the game thread before the first half's even over.

I would get a lot more warm and fuzzy if Brady throws for 275, and they run for 220 yds while sacking Fitzy 4 times and make them punt 8 times.

Brady could be doing lots of 4ths and 1's and 2's if Game is out of reach in the 4th Quarter:)
