I know this is premature, but in the doldrums of the bye week, it's fun to speculate.

For having the most unexpected improvement, I think it's between Rod Marinelli of the Lions and Romeo. Green Bay's Mike McCarthy is a runner-up.
Even though BB is having another outstanding season, with his popularity, he'd get as many votes as Mangini and Cameron. Anyone else?

What do you think?

How about Jauron?

Though if...shh...the Patriots actually don't lose, well then.

Good choices. I think you have to throw Sean Payton in the running too since the Saints look like they've recovered.

BB has too much talent for COY. That award should be reserved for over-achieving coaches.

Marinelli
Romeo

Romeo has grossly underachieved until now, so I don't think he's really deserving. Marinelli has talent PLUS Martz, so I think he's questionable too. If the Bills finish 9-7 or better, I'd seriously consider Jauron. McCarthy should be in the running and as much as I had to say it, the doughboy in Dallas might qualify. But really, no matter what the talent, if BB goes undefeated he should be coach of the year.

norv turner . not easy to screw up an existing good team.

Mike Nolan ..........high pick starting to look like a lock

I think Tomlin is worth a mention in here too. He's got the Steelers playing well.

Bill Belichick

Hands Down.

It's a stupid award. The best coaches on the league rarely change from year to year but a guy like Belichick has absolutely no chance of winning it.

It'll go to Marinelli or McCarthy or some other schmuck who takes a bad team from last year to the playoffs.

Eric Mangini- New York Jets

That team has done a 180 degree turn from what they were last year, great job!!
