I saw an interesting tidbit today that has me excited and my homer koolaid thoughts flowing.

NFL rookie WRs to surpass 1,000 yards:

John Jefferson -1978
Joey Galloway- 1995
Terry Glenn - 1996
Randy Moss - 1998
Anquan Boldin - 2003
Michael Clayton - 2004
Marques Colston - 2006
AJ Green - 2011

7 of those WRs ended up being NFL #1, top 10 WRs. The only outlier is Clayton.

Thompkins pace:

60 receptions 1,028 yards 12 TDs

One could argue KT only has respectable stats due to being thrown at alot, but he's being thrown at alot because he's open. If he stops dropping easy ones, stumbling around on the field, and gains better awareness over the course of the season, how good can KT become?

Is he the next stud WR in the NFL, a quality #2/#3 career WR, or worse?

Who are 7 top #1 10 WRs in that list? I see 3. Jefferson, Moss and Green.

Colston has been the Saints #1 WR and a top 10 WR consistently his whole career.

Boldin may of been a #2 with the Cards but he has 800 receptions and 10,000 yards.

Galloway had 6 1,000 yard seasons, that's a top 10 #1 WR, especially for the 90s.

The pointstill stands. Every rookie WR that has reached 1,000 yards has turned into a damn good WR except for Clayton.

It is good possibility with great coaching of new england he could be a superb catcher, perhaps top 15 of all..... one day. My opinion, just speculating. I saw some where compared to young ocho stinko. I think accurate!!

GO PATS!!! :rocker:

He's tall ... I think cathedral for him.

Can't player be a #1 WR without being in the top 15 in the league?

I expect our #1 receiver to be either Thompkins or Amendola for the next few years. This could be true even if neither is a top 15 receiver.

Somewhere between options 2 and 3. With Gronk and DA healthy (hopefully that happens with SOME regularity over the next 4-5 years), KT will always be 3rd option at best so I can't put him top 15. But I do see him putting up Branch-like stats with the added deep threat. If he is durable, I predict he'll be the best drafted WR in the BB era until further notice, eclipsing Branch and Givens.

other then the whole catching passes and getting better every week,

The thing i loved was hearing that he and dobson are very brotherly. and sticking with dobson after that falcon player nearly took dobsons head off.

Kenbrell just seems like he could grow into a really high caliber receiver, that could grow into a leader if he continues to mature as a person and a player,.

David Givens anyone? Who knows he has played a total of4 games. But if we get David Givens production from him, I am fine with that.
