If Brady wins, the New England Patriots play the Pittsburgh Steelers in our first game.
I love me some TFB, but I'm a fan of the Patriots. I see we now have a link on the main page to some story about "Trouble Brewing Between Brady, Patriots?" Feh. I'll believe it when I see it.
Right now Brady has every bit of my support. Kraft disappointed me, but the Pats have 100% of my support too. "What if" doesn't have a damn thing to do with it for me. We've had a target on the jersey for a long time. Okay.
The one casualty of the situation that would be unacceptable to me is making me choose b/w TFB and the Pats. If this ends up being the eventual outcome, that's when I'd feel punched in the gut.
As of right now, I've "worked through" this latest saga. Not thrilled to lose a #1 in 16 and a #4 in 17. Would rather start TFB in Week 1 than Week 5. I've learned to live with it: The NFL is bent on taking down the Pats, b/c you're not supposed to hog trophies like that anymore. I'm sure they're also not fond of perfectly legal ways we beat other teams within the rules... see the *****ing and whining about the "checking in ineligible" issue.
That was BB making everybody freak the f*** out as much as anything. When you're the "focus" of the other teams' collective emotional reaction, a coach like BB can use that against them.
Say it with me children: We have to beat the other team, the cheatin'-ass refs, and the league every game... at this point in the bootstrapping process, if someone wears the wrong socks we lose multiple draft picks.
"What if Brady loses his appeal" or "What if Brady drops his appeal" has no effect on me, other than a possible happy surprise for 4 games next fall. Guys are saying "IF" Brady wins it "THEN" the Pats are vindicated AND therefore somehow Goodell is beat-down, possibly resulting in his removal from the commish's office.... and I say, feh.
Believe it when I see it.
Whoever's behind center, I'm on to Pittsburgh.
