As a business owner it is really not in the owners interest to accept the latest offer from the players. Bad Deal.
It should be rejected and an offer of 58.3% should be sent back to them.
If they do not accept that, then cut the 170M in salaries currently over the cap. Also every team should cut an additional 15 players for at least a month.
Next year with no minimum cap, quite a few teams will really lowball player salaries.
This is business.
Upshaw is a jerk IMO.
The NFLPA would be on its knees in no time.

My next question to you will then be which 15 Patriot players will you cut? And don't forget collusion is illegal (like the baseball owners found out), so you would be hoping that none of the other owners would cherry pick your cut players.

I see where you're coming from and I agree that if the players don't sign a new deal it would benefit the league in general if the owners employed a self-imposed cap that squeezed the players so badly they came begging on their knees for another reasonable cap deal.

However, the problem with your idea and mine is that collusion by the owners is illegal outside of a formal agreement, if I'm not mistaken.

Sure lots of thing are technically illegal.
But things are only really illegal if proven in a court of law.
Doesn't every roster in the NFL have a bunch of folks on it just for camp competition?
Wink Wink Nod Nod tough to prove.
My point is more about business power.
What the union wants is illogical and unfair.
