On the surface it clearly was... 2 teams in the top 8. One team in the super bowl. Overall they had good seasons in the macro sense. But that taste left in their mouth at the end isn't so hot.

The Chargers got their doors blown off. Even with a bunch of garbage points at the end you can't feel good as an 'LA fan' watching that. It gives you no hope they can get over the hump and their aging QB will soon leave them in rebuilding mode.

As for the Rams they got by the Saints arguably cause of a bad call and nothing last night proved they deserved to be in this game over them. Not only that. This teams future was suppose to be the offense. When you have an offensive guru and put up this kind of game and makes one wonder what your prospects are. If they lost in a shoot out in be one thing. Fix the D and try again. This was getting absolutely blown out of the water with what should have been your strength. Every team in the NFL is going to study what the Pats (and Bears) did.

This Rams team which went all in to get to this game fell short. Not only has it hurt their options in the draft and future rebuilding, it may have exposed their offense. I could see this being a case where a SB loser misses the playoffs and really struggles to get much going next year.

So when I look at this year you see the instant impact but you also see the signs that it is going to potentially go downward pretty fast for both LA teams here.

The Rams are done. All-in team with short window built in mercenary stars. Lots of deferred cap hits hitting. Goff’s rookie deal will expire (and Goff may lose a lot of confidence.). McVay PANCED by BB.

Chargers have a bright future.

The LA fans don't care about football, thats why the rams left in the first place. LA fans care about the dodgers and the lakers.

Yes it was good. They are picking 28th and 31st for a reason.

1. They played the Patriots
2. They made it deep into the playoffs

Definitely both teams did well this year.
