Wade Wilson sees double standard

OK, if he wants he can have a 500K fine instead of a 5 game suspension with pay.

That and maybe giving up a 1st and 3rd round draft pick will make him feel better.

Some people don't know when to shut up - so we're expected to believe his story? If it were BB everyone would scoff at that and assume that the HGH was being passed along to his players.

Guilty until proven innocent.

Any diabetic will tell you this is a blatant lie by Wilson. He was the go-between for supplying his team with HGH. The rest is a sob story, using his disease as a cover. Think about how low that is.

I'm quite sure RG consulted medical people before handing out his punishment. Likely he found that it was total BS for WW to be perscribed HGH for these medical condition weighed into it.

Umm because it was proved that he was only using it for personal use, and he was working for The Bears, not The Cowboys, when this was going on?

Add to that they he didn't bother informing anyone in the orginization that he was being perscribed medication banned in the conduct act. Had this been legitimate use, you'd think that he would have reported to the head coach "Hey, my doc says I need this stuff to live, get a boner, whatever.

His name came up the same way Rodney's did. In a HGH scandal

He stopped using it and disposed of the substance because his blood sugar levels were all over the map. Seriously, read the first article that came out on this before commenting.

Regardless of the believability of WW's statement, he is still cearly foolish here. WW was given a paid vacation - per Tom Curran on WEEI - while BB was fined half a million dollars and NE gave up a first round pick.

Does WW really think that a five game suspension even compares to the loss of a draft pick? If a team forfeited a draft pick, even a second day one, for every doping offense they wouldn't let any of their players do it. Draft picks are power.

I'll take a BB suspension over a 1st round draft pick any day of the week. This team won't collapse under that.

You're just quoting what he said - which he can't prove - and isn't "proof" at all.

Not even the shady internet pharmacists claims HGH does anything for ED. Show me one ounce of evidence that anyone thinks it's a treatment for ED.

It's interesting to note that he as a coach got a higher punishment than Rodney - (see - that's a fact !) - which probably leads one to believe that the league didn't buy his story either.

Here's the first one that came up in a Google search of over 390,000 references to growth hormone as a treatment for ED by delivering an effective amount of human growth hormone which stimulates production in the patient of an insulin-like growth factor. I'd imagine the insulin part is what caused his blood sugar levels to spike.

He was suspended 5 games versus Rodney's 4 games because the league wants its coaches and players held to a higher standard. This was not because they didn't buy his story, in fact he would have been banned for life if the league believed he was distributing to players.

The only reason I even have commented on any of this nonsense is because your original argument was that The Cowboys should be punished for HGH distribution in the locker room because an assistant coach was found to be using HGH for personal use while an employee of the Bears. This makes you a moron.

Wilson hasn't called for Belichick to be hung at the gallows, he just wants Goodell to explain why there was a difference in punishment. As a Cowboys fan I'd rather Wade's punishment than Belichick's. However, he wants an explanation for the inconsistent enforcement of NFL policy. He's requesting an explanation of why in one case the organization is held accountable, and in the other a person. I haven't been listening to EEI today but I do know Wilson was fined 100K as part of his punishment.

It seems pretty clear, if you ask me. Doping of any kind is a player thing. It is something a player does to improve his personal game and, by due process, the team.

What NE did was more team oriented. They had a guy on the payroll whose job was to lug the camera around. I highly doubt that BB was the only person privy to the footage. Plus, the benefits of the film trickled down to the players.

Frankly, if you gave BB the choice, he wouldn't even need a full second to decide whether he would rather be supended for 5 games or lose a first rounder. That is what I find so laughable. BB gave up 5X the money Wilson did *and* the team had to give up the most valuable commodity a football team has. Why is he complaining?

That's the thing, he isn't complaining. The media is presenting this like he called a press conference demanding answers, the truth is he was attending his son's football practice and ESPN showed up and started asking questions. He said he just would like an explanation from Goodell, and he said he knows what Roger will say (which I would guess is along the lines of what you said) but it'll make him feel better if there was a chance for him to appeal in any way to help the team, it'd be something worth checking into.

Did Wade Wilson check into Viagra? Seriously, this whole business of illegally obtaining LARGE AMOUNTS of HGH for the reasons he specified is ridiculous. There are legitimate medical avenues he can pursue for what ails him, that's just a smokescreen and his suspension was reasonable.

Hey - since he is coaching on every Sunday, he probably doesn't get the chance to see all the Viagra and Cialis commercials during the games. (insert sarcasm)Therefore, it is totally reasonable to believe he thought the only cure out there was illegally obtained growth hormones..............

I would tell WW to go F himself, but he already admitted to suffering from Erectile dysfunction. Sorry, old boy.

I think you are missing the point. I think that Wade Wilson was actually saying that the Patriots weren't treated fairly. NOT that he was treated unfairly.

Wilson is missing the point. I'm not sure he should have been punished at all, but if he was going to be, the amount of time makes sense: Take the standard 4-game player suspension for doping, then add another game because it's worse for coaches to misbehave.

Belichick's "crime" is the sort of thing usually handled with a reprimand and loss of a draft choice. So that's what he got, plus the highest fine in history.

BS. Its NEVER been handled with the loss of a draft pick. Unless you are going to compare it to the Broncos and 49ers cheating and then the Pats suffered a much more severe punishment.

Sorry but any diabetic wouldn't tell you its a lie. In fact, in a recent new story here in Dallas regarding HGH, they said that doctors do prescribe HGH to help with diabetes. And they were also quoting some med journals and such.

I actually completely agree with him. On not one, but two counts. For one, he was taking HGH to combat diabetes and impotence. Never having had to live with either, I can imagine the two aren't very pleasant, and I really don't blame him for it. Besides, what kind of competitive advantage does taking HGH as a coach give you?

If HGH was the only drug for these ailments, he should of had it proscribed by a doctor. I know the world of medicine is screwed up, and there is a lot of politics, but did he try the conventional route of treatments for these ailments? As a coach of an NFL team, possession of HGH is a very serious offense as it leads to speculation that the drug is making its way to the training room and thereby compromising the integrity of the game. In my opinion a coach in possession of HGH is more of a red flag than an individual player getting caught with it.

For two, they did punish the organization instead of the person. It should have been a suspension, not the loss of draft picks. That hurts Mr. Kraft, the organization, and the fans more than it hurts Belichick.

BB would have gladly accepted a suspension rather than give up a first rounder.
