Trade down?

Belichick has never cut a healthy 4th rounder before the season started.

I'm aware of that fact, anyway I don't think he would hesitate if things line up that way which is very difficult since his track record is so good on later rounds.

My opinion is this generally.

You are either looking to draft a top CB or a top DT with your first pick. I do not believe in drafting guards in round 1 generally and this year does not have a player I feel is the exception.

If a top player is not there that is worthy of a first round pick then trade down and trade back up to get more picks in the 2nd and 3rd as one poster already illustrated.

I expect a trade, and the outcome of that trade will cause many fans to have a "WTF moment" and the prognosticators will take to the airwaves on Monday with other scenarios, that are very unlikely, but make sense to them and their twitter followers..

The Pats average draft pick in the past ten years is #25, not bad considering how good this team is..
