Cousins,
This was three rounder was done with a little trade intrigue including the four three round comps. Wouldn't mind the results. Fire away! Three parts

ROUND 1
Pick # Overall Team Player Pos. School
1 Miami Jake Long, OT, Michigan. The chicken pick. Bill you do not have a QB! The Phins would have had Quinn, at least something to work with this year if not for stupid. You will make mistake #2 in two years passing Ryan. Look down the road in NCAA the next two classes. There are no QB’s of this talent…… Bill, all this $ for a RT?
2 St. Louis Chris Long, DE/OLB, Virginia. It works here. They have flexibility with Carriker. Starting to be a nice young D line. The Rams need an outside pass rusher
3 Atlanta Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College. Arthur Blank wants Ryan. The staff would like to go either line. Eventually they need a CB but have a luxury of many picks. They have no QB, the same as the Phins but I believe the Falcons are going to be smarter. It has been said they are a team with many holes. Can this kid survive on a weak Falcon team? Look at BC. They were NOT an elite team and Ryan made the difference. This tough guy makes everyone better around him and I have a reason that will follow him to Atlanta. Dimitroff was smart enough to know the Chiefs and Jets sought Ryan and he is the real deal. They’ll go for OL and DL help real soon…Watch!
4 Dallas from Oakland -TRADE FOR #22 and #28 in Round one and 2009 Round three. Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas. Jerry gets his man and he did not have to give away Barber III. Oakland can’t be fixed in one year as Al knows.
5 Kansas City Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State. The O-line was pitiful. 2nd best O-lineman in the draft and maybe a real LT unlike Long. Let’s start here. K.C. can’t be fixed in one year either , as Herm and Carl know. Herm and Carl wanted Ryan. Decent pick though.
6 NY Jets Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State. Consolation prize? This kid is a stud. He can be the Merriman for the Jets and a face for the defense. He can’t hurt, right? A Ha Ha on the Pats perhaps?
7 Atlanta from New England (from San Francisco) TRADE FOR Round two #34 and #37, Round four #103 and 2009 Round three.-
Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU. Typical N.E move but the Falcons get perhaps the best player in the draft plus their QB in round one. Blank and the coaches are both happy. Two good players. Falcons still have many draft choices.
8 Baltimore Branden Albert, G/T, Virginia. Geez Wilcox and Marshall, they wanted Ryan also, would have taken Long (either) and wind up with Ogdens’ replacement. Not bad.
9 Cincinnati Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC. Any line help was needed. Surprised he dropped this far.
10 New Orleans Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy State. Wanted Ellis but they need a CB desperately as well. Also helps the KR game.
11 Buffalo Limas Sweed, WR, Texas. Most of the Bills WR are midgets. Great compliment to Lee Evans with Sweed. Nice target for Trent.
12 Denver Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt. Grab these OT’s when you can. Athletic Williams fits the Broncos zone scheme.
13 Carolina Kenny Phillips, FS, Miami. They wanted an OT. But they will wait. S is a need and Phillips will play right away.
14 Chicago Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois. This is the kid they wanted and local too.
15 Detroit Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB Al.St.. Good choice here and not a WR. A need, but let’s hope Millen doesn’t screw this up.
16 Arizona Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson. This kid has been dinged. When healthy he is as good as most in this class. The Cards need a pass rush.
17 Minnesota Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida. They need DE help. He is the best choice here. Hopefully some added pass rush.
18 Houston Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon. Under 4.5 with 235 lbs. The cowbell runner they need.
19 Philadelphia James Hardy, WR, Indiana. Finally a speedy big receiver for Donavan. This may be the desired playmaker that McNabb talked about.
20 Tampa Bay Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina. They find a good steady DT with a lot of upside.
21 Washington Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College. They need a safety but a RT is a good choice here.
22 Oakland (from Dallas) (from Cleveland)
Pat Sims, DT, Auburn. They need a replacement for Saap. They need quite a bit.
23 Pittsburgh Dan Connor, ILB/OLB, Penn State. Local kid and another LB is a need. Smart Steeler type. No offensive guard worth taking here.
24 Tennessee Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma. Think he has faster playing speed. With Crumpler and Kelly, Young has options.
25 Seattle Fred Davis, TE, USC. Best rated TE in the draft by some. He’s ok. About where he should be drafted. A definite first day starter for the Hawks.
26 Jacksonville Quentin Groves, DE/OLB, Auburn. A little light for a Jacksonville DE but you can’t teach speed.
27 N.E. (from San Diego) –TRADE FOR #34 in Round two (from Falcons) and #94 in Round three.-
Keith Rivers, OLB, USC. The Pats work back to the first round. They gambled but get their man in Rivers and they wind up with another top pick in 2009. Incredible! S.O.P. The Chargers want extra draft choices and moving 6 down for an extra one works here. The Chargers don’t need much anyway.
28 Oakland (from Dallas)- Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh. A steal here. Oakland does a great job getting two potential starts this round for McFadden. Not spectacular but solid.
29 San Francisco(from Indianapolis) - Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida. A sure top fifteen choice lands here to the Niners.
30 Green Bay Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas. CB is a need a Mr. Weed fills the bill. Can you even buy pot in Wisconsin?
31 NY Giants Jerod Mayo, ILB, Tennessee. A very smart LB who can play in or out and has some coverage skills. Can replace Mitchell in year one. Was rated much higher lately.
