    1. A top 3 running back.
    2. The best defense in the league.
    3. One of the most physical teams in the league.

The Steelers have the best personnel in the league to execute the ‘blueprint’ comprised over the last two weeks.Add that with a short week after a ridiculously physical game that came down to the final seconds.

If we beat them this Sunday, I feel we will have conquered our biggest challenge for the rest of the year.

    The other four playoff teams...

    1) Colts
    2) Chargers
    3) Jags
    4) Browns

We’ve already beat the Colts, in the most unfavorable conditions possible with one of the worst officiating in recent history. They’ve only gotten worse with the huge loss of Dwight Freeney now, and Marvin remains a mystery.

The bottom 3 teams there, are clearly not elite this year and we've already beat two of them by 3 scores.

It won't get harder then this weekend folks. If we win, there will not be a harder challenge in the road to 19-0. If there’s a team perfectly assembled to beat us, it’s the Steelers.

I’m sure most of you would rather stay conservative but I’ll say it now. If they can't get it done, nobody will.

frankly their passing game with decent receivers and TE's is bigger threat for us. if this was a cowher coached team i would be more secure because they would just run run and run. now they have a decent enough balance.

The Steelers are a FRAUD. Their stats are based on playing the easiest schedule to date. They have lost 3 out of 4 on the road. They lost to the Jets and only beat Miami by 3 at home with a rookie QB.

Steelers fans, please don't flame me, but STATS CAN BE MISLEADING. Willie has alot of yards, but I'm serious when I say our run game does not help in our wins. This year has been all about Big Ben and solid defense. Our secondary is very easy to expose, especially if Polamalu is back there being used as some kind of superman. They need to let him line up and just play safety. You are right about the physical part though. The Steelers play very, very physical football.

And you are not? The Colts will most likely finish with the 2nd seed. At worst they will be the three seed, so the only way they will play the Pats is if they both make it to the AFC Championship game. Unless of course Polian gets the competition commitee to change the Playoff format i.e. the 2nd seed gets an automatic spot in the AFCCG or the divisional round becomes a best of three (unless the Colts win the first game of course). ;)

I somewhat agree with that statement. But the strength of schedule argument is out the window for every team this season (with possibly the AFC South being the exception) due to the overall lack of winning teams. 20 teams are currently at 500 or below and only four of them are at 500. So, exactly half the league has a losing record. That affects everybody, even if you factor in the two games based on division placement.

Their offensive line is usually awful and whereas other teams have trouble taking down Roethlisberger when they do get to him, I really don't worry about Warren, Wilfork or Seymour getting shrugged off by Big Ben. The Steelers will not win if the line battles turn out like they should.

It's a simple equation really. Does anyone honestly think the Steelers will outscore the Patriots at Gillette on Sunday???
Brady said it himself this morning. Yes the Ravens have a good defense and played well but there were a lot of miscues and mistakes by the Patriot offense in that game. Oh and they scored 27 points while not playing well and on the road and in cold and windy weather. They played well for 10 minutes against the Colts on the road and in a hostile environment and scored 24 points. Sorry but this Steeler defense is hardly the Steel curtain and I expect some BIG numbers from this Patriots offense on Sunday. This Patriot team puts up 24 and 27 against good defenses on the road when they're playing lousy.
High Patriot octane will be returning to Foxborough on Sunday. I feel really GOOD about this game and the Patriots appraoch to it. VERY confident about this game.

I agree with you somewhat, except for the fact the Steelers strength of schedule is 32, that's dead last! I know, you only play who is on your schedule, but, they haven't played the teams on their schedule that well.

I didn't realize they were last considering they have two games against a winning team in their division. Interesting, where did you get the strenght of schedule listing? Just curious, I would like to check it out.

This thread's subject is the epitome of poor spelling.

I completely disagree with this thought process. Pitt's OL has been pretty bad this year and the teams that gave NE the most trouble also happened to win the LOS.

If Pitt wins the LOS (offensively) against a NE team that is still smarting over the Baltimore game, I will jump to the side of those worried about the defense.

Defensively, Indy controlled NE's offense much better than Philly or Baltimore did. Philly allowed NE their normal amount of points per drive and Balitmore only allowed less than mid thirties due to obvious holding and NE dropping balls. Hell, just add Watson and Randy's catches in the EZ and NE scores 35 points even with all the holding.

I saw the word misspelled twice in the thread so I thought I'd point it out.

Sorry, it was just a bit of sarcasm on my part and not meant to be personal...

"The Jerk" is a great movie, though. I'm sure that's why you posted that pic, just to let me know you liked it too, right? Couldn't be personal or anything...

I think we'll win this game but I'm still worried about our D in the playoffs, specifically our LBs. Hopefully Rodney can make enough big plays the rest of the way (like he did vs. the Ravens) to offset this weakness.
