There was so much wrong with that play. Perhaps it was a Brady change of the call. Perhaps it was the formation. If Brady wanted an empty backfield, how could he not have a throw before the the rusher got there. Why aren't Chandler and Gronk being used in these situations? We have had a few of those really strange 3rd and 4th and short plays

They spot the ball badly which lead to the measurement and challenge. Brady was gonna run a sneak on 3rd and 1 but Vinovich gave us a 1st down. The challenge cost us the element of surprise.
