Considering I'm the first person to chastise officials when deserved, I feel it is my duty to applaud their efforts yesterday. Consistent and allowing a reasonable amount of contact down the field.

But how did they miss that neutral zone violation on the Bears? The WR's foot was about 2 feet over the line of scrimmage. And they got a big gain on that play too.

Someone told me I was wrong to say this same thing yesterday. Honestly, they were not Perfect (No Ref Crew is) and some things were missed but they were the best crew we have had this season so far. They largely just let the guys play and it was nice not seeing flags thrown every other down.

If that's the worst call/non-call all game, I'll take it. Usually that kind of stuff is lost amongst a cavalcade of game changing f*ck ups.

Something else that warrants mentioning, from Reiss regarding the TO at the end of the first quarter:

The wind I thought it gusted, there were times during the game when I thought it was more of a factor than others. It wasn’t a constant, steady factor. It kind of came and went at times. I think it was more of a factor in the kicking game than the passing game.”

While most other coaches can barely keep basic strategy straight, Bill is always on top of everything.

They could be 117-1, and it would not make up for the pain of that day. That one stings. Still remember Dent picking up Craig James and shaking him until the ball fell out. There was a very exciting first two minutes, followed by utter humiliation by a much better team. Pats gave up as many sacks as Chicago gave up rushing yards.

Still nice to beat the modern Bears, though.

I'll never forgive Ray Berry for picking Eason over Steve Grogan.

I admired the general paucity of flags from the officials, but if I were a Bears fan I would have had a hard time with the Gronk touchdown where it looked on replay as if the ball clearly moved when he hit the ground. That doesn't seem like control to me.

There were a few other calls you could question, but the refs don't have the benefit of slo-mo replay on penalties, so you can hardly criticize them.

I thought this crew had the right attitude -- don't call it if you're not sure.

It was close - I would have expected the call to stand if it was called incomplete - but the reviewers neglected to mention that Gronk's left hand remained under the ball even as he went to the ground. Space between his right hand and the ball did not necessarily mean loss of control in that situation.

The holding and illegal hands to the face by the Bears O-line went uncalled the entire 2nd half..

They were hardly consistent other than allowing some contact downfield..

I'm really sick of this snide, holier-than-thou attitude. Most of us are really faithful, win or lose. One of the announcers of yesterday's game said something like, the fans were ready to dump Brady a couple of weeks ago. I call BS on that and on this.

"What you sow, so shall you reap!"
