The Patriots Might Be Better Off Without Wes Welker

His QB just renegotiated downward....everybody agrees 8 million a year is acceptable but Welker won't probably do it...8 mil for 3 years with 16 mil guaranteed I believe was the consensus?...now Brady has done something HE doesn't financially have to do TO HELP THE TEAM. Welker signs a 5 year forty million dollar contract with say, 22 to 24 mil guaranteed...everybody is happy, no? One big happy family..and instead of being called stupid for taking less for his last contract this go round, he comes out smelling like a rose farm...gets MORE guaranteed money while cementing "ultimate team player" status with his buddy, Brady.

Time will tell....

It was a minor exaggeration, but the point was that we simply do not have the resources to pay everyone.
.

Its starting to look like we will.

It's not part of the deal but there's no doubt the Patriots know where he stands on bringing Welker back.
