It's easy, and only takes a few moments.True, but not as a punishment for tampering. the Jets forced the Pats hand by the phony consultant position. Tagliabue knowing the consultant BS was a farce, made the parties broker a deal to let Parcells out of the part of the contract that precluded him from coaching for a year. The tampering part was really separate and not addressed. The Pats were actually compensated pretty well for that.
Eh. The Pats got a 1st, 2d, 3rd and a 4th round pick. That's pretty damned good. I have to think that at least the spector of tampering was hanging over that settlement.True, but not as a punishment for tampering. the Jets forced the Pats hand by the phony consultant position. If you get your hopes up for anything more than /maybe/ a swap of 4th rounders, you'll be disappointed I'm afraid. The Reason Woody Johnson did that was so he could get a message across to Revis and let him know he never wanted to trade him.
Revis hearing that softened on the Jets.
AKA TAMPERING.
They frickin signed him Come on Goodell the retribution needs to be value a second at least.
You're not that naive to think big ticket items don't require a Kraft seal of approval are you??

He's also smart enough to know when to let his guys do their jobs. You sound like a new fan. Compare the contracts BB walked into when Kraft paid half the team as if they were Revis. BB alone has enforced the fiscal discipline that has kept us competitive year after year.
I bet BB has never turned a negotiation over to Kraft that Kraft didn't approve of. He's a fan and has more money than he knows what to do with.

I can't wait to switch some 5th rounders.
do the jets even have a 5th rounder. It'll probably be a 7th round pick in the compensationary area.
Jets have no fifth it sixth round pick this year.I don't expect much from any tampering case, aside from maybe a fine for Johnson (obviously worth it to him), and a swapping of some late round picks.
Revis chose the Jets and money over taking less and likely winning more here. It is what it is. I hope they go 5-11.
Woody has a fourth and a seventh. Never mind the "I warned you this year, " precedent.Woody doesn't care....the punishment will be a slap on the wrist and low round picks...worth it to have revis back

Briggs precedent. In this case the guilty party has been warned within the league year in writing (camera placement gate precedent), and signed said player, while continuing leaks to the media. League asked for phone records, and supposedly the pats dropped out Monday, after all the leaks of numbers. Methinks Kraft has somebody's ear, holding future 40 million dollar bonuses ransom.Well, scratch that and go back to a fine + a swap of earlier picks then--possibly even later. Either way, I don't think it will amount to anything worth a damn.
It was a clear cut case of tampering, but we've seen that all over the NFL lately and Goodell didn't choose to do anything about it earlier, so I think it makes it even more difficult to justify now, unless he wants to punish the entire NFL.

I'm not insinuating the pats dropped out because of the request. Just pointing to the multiple signs that lead to a stronger case against the Jets.I mean, I hope you're right--but it reeks of conspiracy theory, so we'll have to see.
I haven't heard anything else about dropping out due to "leaks of phone numbers," so you'll have to understand my apprehension. Nothing personal, as I value your opinion.
