Good thread, I enjoy seeing everyone's take on Price.
But, this is as good a place as any to discuss one of my pet peeves ...."the 40 yd time"...I am not saying speed isn't important, but the differrence between a 4.2 time in the 40 yd dash and a 4.4 time is very small. When you do that math, over 80 yards, which you can use if the discussion is about stretching the field, a guy who runs 4.2 will be all of 2 feet ahead of the guy who runs a 4.4. And, of course, that difference shrinks if it is not an 80 yd route, which it isn't unless its a hail mary. If you are talking about a 40 yd route, the difference is about a foot.
If it is a track meet, that is a huge difference. If it is a football game, where the quarterback has to throw the ball accurately, its not, at least in my opinion. If after 40 yds, the guy with 4.2 speed is only twelve inches or so ahead of the 4.4 guy, he is hardly wide open.
Funny.
What about after the catch? The difference between a tackler getting a piece of a ball carrier so others can finish the tackle, and a complete whiff allowing a ball carrier to pick up huge yardage is nothing more than inches. That's why speed matters.
