    I'm assuming you're talking about #24.

A little off topic here, I'm not meaning to call out anybody on this forum, but I remember seeing someone on here with the user name of Arrington Planet....I haven't seen him in quite a while.

I wouldn't want to name any individual.

But pretty much everyone in the secondary has their moments where you go "WTF?"

from the first rd picks to the UDFA.

I would happily eat humble pie if they went lights out for the rest of the year.

I'd love to see Moore turn into a solid member of the team.

Ah, I don't care how much he's ragged on. I love the guy. :singing:

He's got heart and that killer instinct for stripping the ball. If only he could be more consistent.

He's the new Antawn Harris -- big plays for both sides.

But hopefully w/o any personal conduct issues.

Love this news because I think he's got potential.

Also love it considering all of the people crowing about how he was complete **** and BB was right for parting ways with him in the thread about his release.

I like. It's very obvious that he has potential to be a good corner in this league. Surprised he wasn't claimed.

Greg Bedard has speculated that Moore is injured and the injury has affected his play this season. Happy to see him on the PS, can't hurt to have some depth.

Perhaps the answer is that the analysis of the GM's of the various teams disagrees with your assessment of Moore's skill set.

True, including our rookie 2nd-rounder, on identical - and nearly consecutive - TD passes.

I believe he's also the one to whom Tedy B was referring when "error repeater" was used.

Welp, he's forever in the annals of Pats history for that one play against the Ravens. Really hard to hate on him for anything after that.

If it's an injury deal, it's really a unique situation. If it's a short-term thing, they'd carry Moore on the roster; he's played 43% of defensive snaps so far, according to Reiss.

If it's a long-term thing, the difference between this and IR is (a) the player probably gets paid less on the PS (depending on split contract status and/or the Pats going over PS minimum to retain him) and (b) Sterling Moore retains practice squad eligibility for next season, should the Pats want to keep a player they've already had for nearly a year, and given a substantial snapcount to, for further evaluation.

It's plausible, but hardly the only explanation. Also plausible is this speculative shot-in-the-dark: this is an Alex Silvestro type-deal, where the Pats have seen enough of Sterling Moore at his "natural" position to think the player doesn't project well there as an NFL player, but like some skills or intangibles of the player enough that they want to work him at another position for a while to see if he can improve and break through there.

Sterling Moore seems to be a decent tackler for a corner, and he seems to have good ball skills and a heady demeanor, to the extent he can break up plays even after being soundly beat by a faster player. His problem seems to be he's slow for a corner. What do they call slow, physical, ball-hawking corners? Safeties. They tried him there last year and he didn't look comfortable. So, they don't think he'll improve at corner, and they've already got one developmental safety on the roster with more ST value (Nate Ebner, excluding punt team), so they put Moore on the practice squad as they attempt to transition him to safety.

It's an interesting thought. He'd have to be a FS though, since he isn't nearly as physical as Chung or any other 'true' SS.

Sort of unrelated, but we haven't seen any DB blitzes this year like we saw from Ihedigbo, Arrington, and Edelman.

Wonder whats up with that. I'd love to see Chung/Ebner blitzing.

You may be correct, however, his return to the Patriots was still important. This critical roster move allows multiple posters to not only come back in from the ledge but regain their faith in BB/the secondary :D

I'm fine with having possible depth for later in the season. Someone could be injured.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with Moore on PS too. My sarcasm wasn't intended at Moore. It was directed at those who made this move out to be a crisis. Moore simply does not (at least so far) have the impact to make his release have any real importance.
