Oh, you don't think 8.5 is fair, or approx. what he'd ask?
Since it'd be the same as DPY Harrison, and more than key DT/NT's such as Stroud, Hampton, S.Rodgers, and Kris Jenkins, when the cap hit isn't even 7 million--why not? I thought 8.5-9 million was just about right on, especially when a lot just last wk were saying 5-6 mill (way too low)
Where could we get the money?
I remember about a month ago, we had approx. 16-17 million before signing some free agents. That is my whole argument--that the longer we are waiting the more it is going to cost us, as other players continue to drive up the market value. Where could we get it now? A couple/few restructures, an extension or 2,maybe a cut we don't want, and the money that's left over. (though it'd be hard now, with the draft etc--then again, we shouldn't have waited til now)
So you think by waiting longer, we'll get him signed for less money then? I don't really understand that thinking, or why a 5 yr/45 million contract wouldn't be way sufficient. Or maybe, at worst the 6-60 that Mayoclinic suggested, but then he'd be going back on his word that he 'wanted something reasonable to stay, but fair'
