this isn't a knock against Tiger.
The guy is flat out ridiculous.
I was a long time Jack fan and Tiger is still chasing his 18 majors....but the 2000 US Open changed all that....it was inarguably the single most dominant performance in sports history....
The margin for error in golf is razor thin....one bad shot in the first round can kill an entire tournament (you could say the same for an errant pass in the first quarter)....while one bad shot in the first set of a tennis major does zero harm....that's why it's so much tougher to dominate in golf.
There is no precedent for Tiger's consistent domination in the big events, year in and year out.
Most believe it's more impressive to dominate an individual sport....perhaps, other than ONE POSITION....NFL QBs carry a set of responsibility that golfers can't fathom.
Ask Tiger if he prefers worrying only about himself, or if he would rather have the challenge of leading 50 other guys into battle.
Golfers don't have to deal with Strahan and Osi.
There's a mental and physical toughness required by QBs that you don't find anywhere else. You don't find them giving dirty looks to fans who snap pictures during their throwing motion.
Golfers aren't leaders....
Jordan was. Russell was. Pele was. Gretzky was. Thorpe and Gipp were. Jackie Robinson was.
Brady is.
That those guys led, supported, and depended on other men gives them MORE separation over individual stars, not less.
