I remember posting in the game thread that the Broncos were "shook" after the loss to NE. I felt then that it was the beginning of the end of their season because that game was supposed to send a message. Their off season moves were definitely with NE in mind and that game was supposed to show everyone that they had won the self-proclaimed "arm race." It's like Denver had a picture of NE on their mirror that they looked at every morning when they were getting ready to work. NE, on the other hand, had all of the other 31 teams in mind, not just Denver.
When Knighton started yapping, I remember telling my co-worker that it was insecurity. They were thinking about NE while NE was thinking about whoever the next opponent would be. It's almost like he was trying to psyche up the team. That's the difference. NE moved on and Denver didn't. I truly believe they were terrified to have to come to Gillette and I truly believe all 52 guys in the locker room know Peyton's arm is cooked. He's done. I appreciate what he has meant (other than the rules changes). I hope he rides off now. The Manning v Brady debate was over for me years ago, but maybe the media will be honest with themselves, especially if TB12 goes on to hoist the Lombardi for a fourth time.
