Rumor: Bethel for William Green

You see how many fumbles the guy has? I dont think it's a good deal at all. He's averaging about 4 fumbles a season. Thats a lot for a guy considering he hasn't even started every game.

I liked Green in college, and was hoping that we might draft him at the time.
Fresh starts can be quite nice.

WE already have a fumble running back in Kevin Faulk. We don't need another one!

OTOH, if this is being done to help facilitate a trade of greater magnitude, then WTF, why not?

Bethel's time has come and gone. I'd rather take my chances with a rook.

I don't know if it has or not. With Givens gone, I say throw Bethel into the fire and see how he does. Who knows, maybe that's what he needs. In the past, there really was no need for him and he knew it. Maybe now that we actually need him he can step it up. I would at least give it a shot in camp.

Sounds like a swap of 2 guys whose current coaches have no use for them anymore.

Are you kidding me? I'd rather go into the season with Bethel that have that no-talent RB with a really questionable personal life on the Patriots. He may have been "'special" at BC (when he wasn't skipping town on the down-low) - but please, what has he done as a PRO? Nadda, zippo, ziltch.

I think this is the bottom line. There is no assurance that going to a new team would help, but the two players won't do much where they are.

Consider if we cut Johnson, and signed Green for camp as a competitior for a backup running back spot. I suggest that most would support both moves.
