Ian's Daily Blog - Since his former teammates are focused on letting their play on the football do the talking, former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison has decided to do his part to put the Jets’ Kerry Rhodes in his place. Just Tweeted by Harrison minutes ago: “@kerryrhodes Kerry, you talk big for someone yet to even win in the playoffs.Think you [...]

Re: Harrison Sounds off on Rhodes

I do believe that is a verbal K.O.

While I always prefer not to respond to other teams' BS of this sort, God bless Rodney.

Harrison is taking things WAY too personally in his new media role so far.

Rodney is a Patriot at heart and always will be (much in the light of Jim Kelly and the Bills). NBC knew this when they asked him to come aboard. His' getting fired up at the comments of the Jesters shouldn't come as a suprise to anyone, much less fans of other teams in the AFC East... such as yourself.

I saw the exchange and Rhodes has been yapping his mouth off..

I liked the part of the exchange where Rhodes attempted to tell Rodney that Belichick thought Rhodes was more talented. And Rodney replied with: "I'm guessing that Belichick prefers a Pro-Bowl safety with championship rings rather than a Pro-Bowl-less one who tweets about himself."

There was also a message that Rhodes set at Rodney about Rodney's knee injury, but I didn't see that one.

I hope Rhodes gets beat on the very first play for an 80 yard TD pass to Moss.

Yeah, the Jets are being awfully uppity. I don't know what justifies that or whether it needs to be justified, but it's pretty annoying.

I'm a Bills fan, but I bet some money on the Patriots this week, minus 3 and a half points. I don't see the Jets winning this game at all, and I put my money where my mouth is.

As much as I like Rodney, he is now retired and supposedly an unbiased reporter... move on, always act like a Patriot.

He's not an unbiased reporter and that's not what he was hired to be. He's a TV and radio commentator (akin to the print version or columnist) who was hired because of who is was to express his informed opinions on the NFL. And I guess some of you have short memories because even when he was a Patriot Rodney was the one player who did express his opinion in these runup to the game situations.

Rodney is likely being opinionated on purpose. He just replaced Bettis on NBC. Bettis was replaced because he's now retired for three years and is old news and didn't do much in his time at NBC to make people want to tune in to watch him. In three years Rodney will be in the same position unless he stands out.

Hey, nice to see you outside of the political forum Darryl :)

You make a good point about Rodney staying unbiased, but I don't think that it's a big deal in sports as it is in other areas. They likely hired him because of his firey personality and the passion with which he will tackle issues (eww, sorry for the gross and unintentional pun). Maybe he shouldn't be so openly biased....

but I love it. Rodney is my favorite football player EVER though, so it's hard for me to criticize the man.
