    WTF really?

This is confusing and annoying at the same time. I mean we had to put up with it why shouldnt they? Is it because they feared us and not the steelers? Or is it because they hate us and respect them? Or maybe they are just scared of the Steelers?

The only thing I can say is hopefully they take themselves out of their own mental game. They have lived on this we are better than the world and we will prove it on sunday now all sudden they respect someone.

Simple. It is because the Steelers would talk back and not be punished for it.

Rex wanted a breakdown in NE Patriot discipline. He wanted to undermine BB and disrupt the order.

It looks like the 45-3 beatdown The Patriots really rubbed it in. I was at that game and saw a lot of trashtalking by the Pats - thats fine, right?...thats what every team does.

Brady must have pissed off the Jets with his trash talking and pointing. BB pissed of the Jets by continuing to score and show it down Rexs throat.

It seems personal between these two franchises of course, given their recent history. Ryan is out for blood though, with these comments and it seems like hes on a mission to destroy Brady and BB.

There must have been a lot of crap said during that 45-3 beatdown. Why else would these guys still be yapping and punking and clowning the pats?

oh yeah, add in the 100k fine the jets had to pay for westhoffs comments about the Patriots as well....

    Simple, really:

    1) Pats are the Jest biggest rival
    2) The Pats beat the crap out of them 45-3
    3) Pitt will punch them back - verbally and physically.
    4) Rex wants Big Ben to lick his wife's feet while he and Tomlin watch

This is really the reason why I wanted Meriweather to lay the wood to Keller on that first Sanchez overthrow. Even though the team would have gotten 15 yards for it, it would have set the physical tone right off the bat in our favor in the game. It would have let the Jets know that we weren't coming out there to play paddy cake. Instead, we didn't really set a physical tone in the game and looked to be playing almost not to lose instead of playing to win.

Yeah, but then everyone on this board would just have one more reason to hate Meriweather.

More and more it looks like we need to bring the wood on the field. what is the big deal 15 yard penalty will bring if it sets the tone and fires up the team like in Baltimore game.

I'm still ambivalent about the response to the trash talking but when you want to fire back and you are not allowed, it brings in a frustration.

But any way all we can do is talk and talk and wait for next year to see what kind of adjustments we do.

Wait a second, I thought the Jets had "moved on."

    LOL, come on guys.

By the way, Belichick didn't run up the score.

The Patriots had 7 yards passing the entire 4th quarter.

They scored 2 TDs in the fourth quarter. They ran, ran, ran, ran, and the Jets did not stop them.

What do you want the Patriots to do in that situation?

Seriously, does anyone have any ideas? I'd love to hear them.

rex likes tomlin, because they were blowing the ravens out one year by half time, and tomlin ran the ball every snap in the 2nd half or some ****.

he probably hates the dude behind doors who knows. plus i have no idea how rex could make this game 'personal'.

Idk about you guys but let Rex talk. Let the Jets talk they won the game they backed up their talk. Kick the wounded Patriots even more. Wake up our QB we had in 01-04 Wake up our coach for when it matters most. I've seen that humans in general tend to perform more than their abilities when they have been embarrassed continuously(three straight losses) and trash talked by their hated rival when they're down the most. Let this be a wake up call that they cannot let a loss like Sunday happen again.

Are you not aware that the Patriots ran, ran, ran, ran, ran the ball against the Jets?

The Patriots had 7 passing yards in the whole 4th quarter. On two attempts.

What do you want the Patriots to do in that situation?

    Seriously. any ideas?

The thing I don't like about rex not opening his big yap is that when the Jets lose to the Steelers, he'll rationalize that it was the fact that he kept his big mouth shut that caused the loss.

Once again, Rex can take all the backhanded digs at the Pats he wants. We had a chance to shut him up, and didn't show up instead.

NEWSFLASH: Brady has been stuffed before in the past. Go back and look. To act like Brady has experienced something new in these playoffs is to have a bad memory. Back then though, the Patriots D stuffed the opponent and the Patriots pulled out the win.

Look back to the Chargers game in 2007 for evidence.

But can you blame the guy had he made that hit there it would have cost him $75,000.
While we all might say it would have been worth it is hard to fault the guy for not doing it. Shoot Meriweather may be wishing he went for it anyway now but this is the type of hit the NFL wanted to weed out he so has been conditioned not to do it.

And this more than anything is why the NFL needs to reevaluate its safety standards because it is clearly effecting the product on the field. I am all for protecting the players but at what cost the D still needs to be able to be aggressive and set the tone.

You're right. I really didn't take that aspect into account when I made that post.

With that said, he still should have gone for it. :D
