That way you can put him where you want and let the FS cover to his side. Without a Revis or Sherman on the other side that doesn't work.Cutting Browner was such a ****ing dumb move what the hell man? Could have kept Browner and signed Potroast.
Without a #1 corner opposite it is likely the Pats felt they couldn't give Browner the safety help he needed to be effective. So the prudent move was to decline the option with Revis unsigned rather than possibly wind up with a $5 million red zone corner.
Source: Darrelle Revis' contract with the Jets: 5 years, $70M ($39 FULLY guaranteed). $48M in first 3 years. #nyj
Downright atrocious. You're gunna pay McCourty but not one of the best CBs of all time. I'm disgusted. That deal looks awful in light of Revis and browner.
I know what this defense looks like with Mccourty and Arrington without Revis or Talib as your number one. And it sucks.
Breakdown of Revis contract: $16M FULLY gtd, $17M fully guaranteed, $15M ($6M fully gtd), $11M, $11M #nyj
Cap space and some rather attractive defensive linemen and linebackers still available...

I get Revis is gone but why the F did we get rid of Browner who was only getting 4.8m? That's a steal for a CB of his caliber.
33 million guaranteed in the first 2 years. There's the major problem.Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 55s56 seconds ago
Revis's deal is 5yrs/$70M but at its core is 3yrs/$48M ($16M/yr) with $39M fully guaranteed source says. Wow.

So it is really a 3 year, $48 million deal or $16 million a year.
