Wow, don't tease me like that. I don't see it happening but if he were somehow able to fit in around $11-12M/year I'd be more than happy to ship Mallet and a draft pick to NYJ. Give Welker's money to him, although Welker's a huge loss Revis to our defense would be at least what Welker is to the offense IMO. You saw the effect Talib had, it will be even more and someone without the issues on or off the field. As great as Talib and Bodden were when healthy, there's a reason those guys came cheap, it's always a catch. We're likely gonna hafta dish out for our gamechanging CB. This would save us the $6-8M/year we may have to sacrifice to keep Talib around and like I said, he's a huge risk. You add to our defense:
Revis, first shutdown corner we've had since the glory days
Fletcher or draft a coverage LB
Draft some depth at CB and S
Armstead lives up somewhat close to his expectations
This is one of, if not THE best defense in the league then. Offense takes a hit without Welker but you still field an elite unit: Brady, Gronk, AHern, Lloyd, Edelman, Ballard, Vereen, FA/Draft pick, and the 7th leading rusher in the NFL last year who should only improve in his 3rd season. But yeah, I highly doubt this 'report' carries much merit. One can dream though.
