I don't buy it. He's an elite corner, no doubt. But you also have to pay elite corners.

Not happening ever ever ever 3 team trades don't happen, Jets aint sending him here, we're not paying him, and we're not giving up a first and second minimum to get him.

This is never happening and neither is Fitzgerald to the Patriots. Let it go people.

Discussing the impossible is pointless, Revis aint coming here and the Cardinals would have to agree to blow up their cap space next year to give away their best player.

Rex would have a nervous breakdown if the new Jets GM traded Revis to NE.

So some un-named GM allegedly drops the Pats name in a list of teams supposedly interested. Color me unimpressed.

I am not advocating nor protesting. Merely pointing out what another rich story it would be. These two franchises have a unique relationship, much like a hammer and a nail. It would be just another crazy chapter.

    #12 Jersey

Wow, don't tease me like that. I don't see it happening but if he were somehow able to fit in around $11-12M/year I'd be more than happy to ship Mallet and a draft pick to NYJ. Give Welker's money to him, although Welker's a huge loss Revis to our defense would be at least what Welker is to the offense IMO. You saw the effect Talib had, it will be even more and someone without the issues on or off the field. As great as Talib and Bodden were when healthy, there's a reason those guys came cheap, it's always a catch. We're likely gonna hafta dish out for our gamechanging CB. This would save us the $6-8M/year we may have to sacrifice to keep Talib around and like I said, he's a huge risk. You add to our defense:

Revis, first shutdown corner we've had since the glory days
Fletcher or draft a coverage LB
Draft some depth at CB and S
Armstead lives up somewhat close to his expectations

This is one of, if not THE best defense in the league then. Offense takes a hit without Welker but you still field an elite unit: Brady, Gronk, AHern, Lloyd, Edelman, Ballard, Vereen, FA/Draft pick, and the 7th leading rusher in the NFL last year who should only improve in his 3rd season. But yeah, I highly doubt this 'report' carries much merit. One can dream though.

The Jets would have to be the dumbest organization in the history of pro sports to trade...

So we actually have a chance at Revis!

We did work out a trade to move Bledsoe within the division, though

our level of worry about beating Buffalo / Jets level of worry about beating us

    = 1 / 100

Very likely that the report is either (a) completely false, or (b), true, but the Patriots are just trying to drive up the price, as they see contenders as bigger threats than the Jets.

In the very unlikely scenario that this is true, there is only one reason why this could happen. Belichick obviously knows the Jets would want to avoid trading their best player to their most hated rival, so if there truly is interest, the Patriots must have something the Jets want. And that would not be draft picks, etc, since any team could offer those types of assets.

Ryan Mallett. The Jets would want a franchise quarterback for a low price, and if Idzik believes that Mallett is a franchise quarterback, then the Patriots could offer the Jets something that other teams cannot. Getting a quarterback would also balance the potential damage of the Patriots getting Revis.

When you look at this year's quarterback class, this could be an outside possibility.

Let me emphasize that I think there's a 90% chance that the report is BS to begin with, but it's fun to speculate.

Ha, that's pretty much the only reason I'd have any hope whatsoever for this to happen. Ahhh what a tease... A shutdown corner and McCourty becoming the stud safety. Haven't had that since 2003, and Dennard will be alot better than Poole next season.

3-way trade with Philly/Atlanta/Tampa as the middle team so Revis can actually end up in New England?

Only way I could see it happening.
