Fair question: We got a taste of that as the preseason went on, Cassel got better. He got better at reading the defense, got better at trusting his teammates to do their job, got better at executing the offense. He will get better each game, the same way Tommy did. Perhaps not as fast given Tommy's college experience in big games, but looking at the Miami game last season, Matt will do okay under pressure, especially as he gets more playing time with the first string.Mike the Brit said:What a GREAT post, AzPF. There's only one other thing: experience under pressure.
Obviously, Cassel had none of that in college. The big question is: how valuable (necessary?) is that for a QB hoping to make it in the pros? Thoughts.
