- Rookie ILB Tyrone McKenzie (knee) has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.
- OT Mark LeVoir (shoulder) has been placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
- Rookie WR Brandon Tate (knee) has been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.
The move with McKenzie was expected after he tore his ACL in rookie minicamp. Now that LeVoir and Tate are moved to reserve lists, which was expected as well, they will not be eligible to play until Week 7 at the earliest.
Who gets signed tomorrow for a try-out until Saturday?
Since Stapleton has only three years of service, placing him on injured reserve before the first wave of roster cuts would have required the Steelers to expose him to waivers, and someone else likely would have snatched him.
I had been wondering why McKenzie hadn't been placed on IR yet. Saw this on PFT and was educated on the IR/Waiver system.

My first two position guesses: CB, OTGoing to be an exciting week,Box......bring it on!

I suspect the contract's general outline was in place before Training Camp, there was just no reason to move the process along before now.I don;t think he signed until the end of last week (8/26/09) ( creative contract that gives him a chance to recoup what he lost being injured)
so it's technically only been about 5 days....They might hsve had to wait for the league to approve the contract.
Because....I would rather have a center.

because I am not confident with the choices of Wendell, Connolly and Ohrnberger as our backup center. It would be good to have another choice. The normative player for backup interior linemen on Game Day is a grizzled veteran who has seen it all and can backup at LG, RG and C.

Already??? How....and quite a bit?? THAT is incredibly puzzling..I really DOUBT he's anywhere near as versatile..PLEASE help us all with the "quite a bit" upgrade over Hochstein. I do see Wendell as cheaper AND in time possible better..but that is a long way than from what he is now.I think Wendell is already an upgrade over Hochstein, by quite a bit.
Can't be. They got rid of Hobbs. All their CB problems were solved instantly. Wheatley has been nothing short of spectacular, and Bodden and Wilhite have clearly become the two best CBs in the NFL already. Once Springs steps on the field, New England will shatter the scoring records as the defense will not be allowing a single point this season.
He sure looked like an upgrade playing C/G in preseason. Does he get used as a FB, TE, whatever, does it matter if BB has it covered elsewhere?Already??? How....and quite a bit??
