No mortars and hand grenades.
Looking at the Draft Pick Value Chart, the Pats have 4 big time picks ranging in value from 780 to 370. After the 2nd round, their tradable picks have values of 57,16,2,and 2.
56 points (4th rd, #119) can move the Pats from #22 to maybe #20....or ahead 6 spots in the second round. If they spend their 4th, that's it until the 6th round...day 3 of the draft.
My point...BB has little control over who he can pick and must let the draft come to him. Since we are accustomed to BB's "Let's Make a Deal" drafting, Check out the teams in the 3rd round with multiple picks. Tenn, Cincy, and Atl have 2 picks including a supplemental. Arizona and Philly have two tradable picks in the 3rd.
And then there's Cleveland.... three 3rd rounders (and three 5th rounders). BB could trade out of the 1st and potentially get a 2nd (#38), a 3rd (#71), and a 5th (#160)....520+235+28=783 verses the 780 for #22.
Or swap a Pats 2nd for a pair of Cleveland 3rds.
Speculation: If teams are targeting the 3rd QB on the depth chart(Tebow or McCoy)...and I do feel that Tebow's stock is climbing, the #22 pick may have considerably more value than chart points...and BB now has some real ammo to work the draft like a maestro. Should be interesting.
