A few mild surprises but I don't expect a jaw dropper tomorrow

Here is my final 53 players I expect on Saturday to be on the roster for the regular season..

3 QBs - Brady, Gutierrez,O'Connell

5 RBs - Maroney,Faulk,Morris,Jordan,Evans

6 WRs - Moss,Welker,Gaffney,Washington,Jackson,Aiken

3 TEs - Thomas,Watson,DeVree (DeVree in a surprise as a 3rd TE)

10 OL - Light,Mankins,Koppen,Yates,Kaczur,Hochstein,Flynn,Ross (surprise keeper),Connolly (another surprise keeper),Britt


Defense


6 DL- Seymour,Wilfork,Warren,Green,Wright,LeKevin Smith

9 LBs - Bruschi,Vrabel,Thomas,Mayo,Woods,Crable,Guyton,Hobson,Izzo

7 DBs - Harrison,Sanders,Lynch,Meriweather,Hobbs,Bryant,Wheatley

4 STs aces - Gostkowski
Hanson
Paxton
Slater

I like Redd and Rudd and if Ventrone can be there he is a nice choice - Too tough too call actually,I leave that for the experts

Without looking at the rest of it, why in heck would they cut Wilhite? He's a 4th round pick and last night he looked outstanding. If he can look that good after having missed most of camp ... and at one of the league's most valuable positions. I'd be shocked if they cut him.

I can't see the Pats going with only 3 corners.

My thoughts exactly, if you have 5 RB, you either have to take 5 WR or 3 TE, you cant just dump a corner.

I believe that the Pats will keep Wilhite and that they will NOT keep 10 O-line.

Isn't Ross still on the PUP? I think they will keep him there.

I think they keep Welbourn over Connolly. No need to have 4 C/G behind Koppen.

As for TE, I think they keep Spach over DeVree.

No way only three corners are kept... injury history plus inconsistent play and the fact that Hobbs is the only returning corner signals the need for more depth. The only way this is the initial cut is if a plan to sign Law or another cut corner is in the works or thinking that a hybrid corner scenario like Meriweather is doable.

4 Corners is about right,Maybe even 5 - But 3 looks to be hoping for an injury free area there and we all know that NEVER happens in NE

1) NEED 9 DB's
Add Wilhite and Sanders

2) NEED 9 OL's not 10
I don't expect Connolly to be even close to the roster. Ross could be a surprise instead of Welbourn as you say.

3) DeVree to the Practice Squad or the shadow roster.

4) Alexander instead of Guyton

BOTTOM LINE - DISAGREE ON 3 (49 agree, 1 tossup Ross or Welbourne)
Out: Connolly, DeVree, Guyton
IN: Wilhite, L. Sanders, Alexander

Youve got 27 on offense and 22 on defense (plus slater who i guess could be either)
The imbalance is usually on D, because those guys are more effective on s/ts (Lb,S,cb)
I think you need to remove 3 offensive guys (def too many ol) and add D. 3 corners is not enough.
I could see 25 O 24 D because of health issues at the OL, but thats the max on offense.
I think the 3rd TE is either a backup OL and/or Vrabel. I dont see room on the roster for a 3rd TE only.
