Patriots Favored to Win 2014 Super Bowl

We've been favored for the last 6 or 7 years now.

Based on what? We've muffed it since 2004, really, even if we did make the playoffs almost every year. But going one or two and done ain't cutting it. On the other hand, maybe once the Pats are viewed as the underdog again - a role they used to relish and thrive on - they will actually win a Superbowl once more.

pats will be right there in the end again next year...they will be good next year..O will be dominate as usual..just get help on D please

Based on what?

really? has your TV been off since 04..we have made 2 Sbs since then and were a game away this year...they are a very young team with tons of talent in a cup cake division

Based on the fact that there are a bunch of people that will bet on it every year.

Which is why I'd say they should be favored to make it to the Superbowl, but not really favored to win it. That should be even money.

Let's see the odds after the draft and free agency. The odds now mean zippo. We don't know who the 2014 Pats are.

D will be fine, maybe better than fine, if we can keep Talib. The O needs to get more physical. 14, 14, 21, 17 and 13 points in playoff losses against more physical teams isn't going to work.

But we might remember what happened the last time the Pats lost in the AFCCG, in 2006 ... they loaded up in the off-season, and went 17-0. This team is a young team that should get better, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them be a better team in 2013 than they were this year.

6/1 is to win it every 7th year, it's not like its a shoe-in..

It does make sense. Is there any team that's more of a sure bet to make the playoffs in 2014 than the Patriots? Considering our division we're likely to pile up 5-6 wins there and probably another bye. Half the teams that made the playoffs this year won't make it next year.

How sweet would THAT be??? Super Bowl host city next year is NEW YAWK. :D

The foundation is there. Add some toughness and a couple of pieces and it can happen.

The New England Patriots winning the Super Bowl in New York would be as sweet as any scenario I can think of.

If SF wins the SB, I'd expect them to overtake the patriots in the favorites odds.

A healthy Gronk, Jones, Talib and Edelman could be the little extra they need. I still believe in Dane Fletcher too. I think he has the potential to be the best LB on the Patriots, or at least, a good bit of depth. Demps returning kicks can only mean better run backs which will help both the offense and defense in the battle for field position.

For what it's worth, Felger says the Pats will go all the way next year and win the Superbowl. I'm inclined to believe him, seeing how he called the Ravens win correctly. :D

They should be favored. People tend to forget how young this defense and offensive line are. I'm laughing at the talk That our run is over. Jokes on you, if you think Ty Law,McGinist,Bruschi and Milloy were world beaters in their first couple of seasons then your gravely mistaken. This defense is just touching the surface of what it can do. They will be better next season and even better the following and so forth. If this defense stays together it will be elite. And will continue to be after Brady retires for whatever QB replaces him.

Stoked for next season.

Based on what the casino book makers think will bring in the most money.

I put no stock in what Vegas says. We need to face reality that this team is not a playoff team anymore. They play great in the regular season and fade in the postseason. We have become like the Manning led Colts. Until I see them actually look like they want to win it all I am not going to get my hopes up. Been 8 years of saying "we'll get it next year".

Ugh don't even start with that...
