Unbelievably lame. ESPN really is a cesspool.
Pretty brutal, but I LMAO over most of it. Let's face it, it's likely after Sunday and after the year, we're going to be the targets, just like the Celtics were under Auerbach.
I really think Bellichick is a good and honorable person, but he sure doesn't do anything to promote that image, and on the football field he's a cold blooded killer.
Red had a different style, but he maintained such a psychological edge his opponents made awful personnel and trade moves trying to get him.
I will say that belongs on a rough humor magazine, not a page of a respected sports publication, but ESPN gave that up long ago.
No author mentioned, but I bet our Sports guy Simmons had a piece of that.
I have no respect for them...... It's not even all that funny. Well, if you are like 14 or something, perhaps it is.
Difficult to give any credibility to an unsigned article, maybe the author should go to Sears to see if they have any testicles on sale.. otoh it was pretty irresponsible journalism and the attempts to demonize Bill are startling.
I found it not funny and not in-line with Belichick's personality. A smart piece would have left me thinking, "yeah, I could see BB saying that."
Just another smear piece disguised as humor.
pretty lame indeed
The Page2 section of ESPN is designated as humor.
But...................... It's not funny? It's just dumb. Even if you hate the guy, that's not really all that creative. If, as PatJew points out, it was the least bit relivant to how he ACTUALLY is, it might be funny.
See 5 minutes, and I'm not ESPN writer.
If it were funny, I'd have no problem with it. But it just sucked. Good satire is funny because it's based in truth. This was generally lacking in humor.
I'm betting The Onion aren't desperately trying to poach that writer away.
I liked it. I looked at the article as an "over the top, what the media would have you believe about BB" piece. Not everyone has to share my view.
Personally, I thought the idea was good, but our mysterious author could not contain his vitriol and make a decent piece out of it. The only half-decent one was the one from Roger, and I am sure there is something more you could make out of our wonderful commish. Maybe he is just not very creative; oh I forgot; this is ESPN.
