OT was letting both Talib and Revis sign elsewhere a good decision?

As others have said, in differing ways, "keeping player X" is not as simple as "if we had him we would be X better". Football is a complicated financial formula that takes the now and the later to come to a 'if we want X, we will have to part with A and maybe Z, and have to get by with C'.

So if we are going to disregard that critical key formula then why not frame the question "did we make a mistake letting Talib AND Revis go?". If we are going to make up our Christmas list without regard to cost then why not ask for every single thing we want?

Fletcher was a disaster. Brown did well before he got hurt.

Well, Byron Jones was drafted by DAL a few spots ahead of Brown. Hes playing but not lighting the world on fire. Jalen Collins was drafted a few spots after Brown by ATL and has done nothing.

Meanwhile, Malcom Brown is improving every week.

A simple look at BB's drafting record in the first round will show he will, everything being close to equal, a DL over a CB every time. Seymour, Warren, Wilfork, Easley all were #1s heading into the 2015 draft. Now name the CB. McCourtey, that's it. Add Merriweather if you want to expand it to DBs. Unless they absolutely loved the CB they would be more likely to trade up for Brown than up for the CB.
