Parcells might help clean up Miami mess
Yahoo.com is reporting that Bill Parcells might end up in Miami's front office, trying to fix a team that will have a hard time winning a game this season.

"It makes a lot of sense that the Dolphins would be a job he'd be very interested in if it came open," a source close to Parcells said Friday. "But only as the GM. I don't think he'll ever coach again."
Prediction: If the Tuna takes this gig, he fires Cam Cameron and takes over as coach after a season.

We've heard this rumor quite a bit over at FH but I'm not so sure I buy into it. Obviously Wayne Hueizenga isn't happy and wants to win now but that's not exactly the plan Mueller and Cameron have bought into. I think the move putting them behind the 8-ball was the Porter signing. Every move the Fins made said rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, except for the Porter move.

With all this said, I like what Mueller is doing. He is over hauling a roster that really needed to be stripped down and rebuilt since 2003.

I'm not sure who you can place the blame on for 2007. Perhaps Mueller for personel moves, maybe Cameron for mis-game management. However, I don't really want any change to occur, I say just stick with this current plan in place and try to develope some continuity for once in Miami. All the change is just like restarting every year. I'd rather see a plan played out and fail then to change management year in and year out.

As much as I enjoyed the humbling of this once mighty franchise sunday last, this team needs a major shakeup to get in back on the right path.. not sure that Parcell's ego would allow him to be a front office guy, maybe a consultant. Parcells would have to be on the field with all of his theatrics and that is not the role of a GM.

After listening the last couple of weeks to Parcells on the ESPN NFL show he does with Keshawn I have come to one conclusion

Parcells has lost a lot off his fastball.

Aqua I'm not going to venture a guess WHO needs to come in to straighten out the fins. But one thing I do know the team can't keep changing coaches and gm every other year. Theres no continuity.

I'm not sure if you're mocking me here or being serious but I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

With that said, couldn't agree more.

It would also help to stop trading draft picks to get either a terrible or overrated QB that predictably fails and sends the Dolphins out 1 year later to trade draft picks to get another terrible or overrated QB that predicatbly fails and send the Dolphins out one year later to....well you get the point.

"A roster that really needed to be stripped down and rebuilt since 2003"; what roster is that, the one that was going to win the AFC East in 2006?

I don't think there is a human being on this planet who changes his mind/flip flops as much as you do Aqua, ie, "Welker is my favorite Dolphin player" to "The guy is mediocre and a rat to boot", "Culpepper is going to put this team over the top" to "Culpepper is a bum and washed up", to "This team has a legit shot to win the AFC East in 2006" to "This roster has needed to be stripped down and rebuilt since 2003."

Here's a suggestion; take a stance, take a side, make a statement AND STICK TO IT.

Parcells as GM is just what the Dolphins need if they want to suck for another ten years. Mr "If they want you to cook the dinner, they should at least let you shop for the groceries" himself....................

Comeon Miami, pick a damn coach and give him time to get things going. I know Cameron is 0 and 7 but atleast give him a chance to get a reliable QB, some WR, his RB back, and some young guys on DEF.

Ha ha. How the mighty have fallen. Just before last couple of seasons you were trumpeting how good the Dolphins were, and how they were going to win the AFCE. Now you admit they needed overhauling. Hey, we told you then the Phins sucked.

Before that it was Culpepper is better than Brady, and then it was Welker is a stiff and the most we will get out of him is a couple five-yard routes a game, that the Phins are better off with Welker, and the Pats made a mistake.

Lastly was why Ted Ginn was going to be a better returner than Dante Hall and Devin Hester put together, and how you didn't need Brady Quinn. If you had kept Welker and drafted Quinn, you would be oner .500 now. But you still insist...

Your track record has been very consistent, I will say that for you.

Neither do we, buddy, neither do we. It's nice to have two sure wins a year, especially with the trouble Brady had in the past in Miami. Guess the past in the past, now. Brady just got you out of his head the way Manning finally got Belicheck out of his head.

The only thing that concerns me now is that the Phins or the Jets will lose too many games and get a good player in the draft.

It's a good time to be a Patriot fan. I've waited many years for this. The final nail in the Dolphins coffin will be the 2007 19-0 Patriots.

I don't see the problem with that. When you put together win streaks with mediocre bunches you expect to be able to patch a few holes then compete. Really, that's not the case. I've seen teams with mediocre talent put together some nice little win streaks (6 games in 2005 and 4 games in 2006.) It has finally all caught up to the Fins are rather than the mini rebuild job Saban did going into 2005, the Fins need a complete overhaul which is something that is in process.

I don't see the problem with me hating Welker either. The guy dogged the franchise AFTER HE WAS GONE rather than being a man and saying something during his time with the Dolphins.

Do you like your ex girlfriend after she cheated on you? Might as well be the same thing IMO.

Last year the Dolphins had 10 draft choices and have already acquired 2 2nd round picks this season. The right moves are being made, we have the same guy that picked up a 1st round choice for Rick Meier and the same guy who robbed the Fins of 2 straight drafts for Ricky Williams.

Anyone who coached a team with Parcells as a GM would be living an absolute nightmare. You'd constantly be hearing about how Parcells was the better coach and he should fire you and take over.
