OT: Analyzing the Jets

I hate JETS, their fans and NY media as much as anyone on this board if not more. The JETS fans, NY media and their obsession and lies, propaganda about BB and video incident makes my skin crawl whenever I see a JETS jersey.

Keeping my hatred for them aside, I think JETS improved their team especially on the defensive side a lot in the draft and FA. I hope all the money they spent on Pace, Woody, Jenkins goes down the drain and they suck pretty bad. But if their moves work along with draft, they will have a very good defense. I hope ManGINA fails miserably in motivating Jenkins and Ghoulston. I hope Woody sucks and I hope they go 7-9 and suck forever. But let us not underestimate them.

I agree they improved a lot. This year they might win 8 games and double their total from last year.:)

im not saying we are winning superbowls this year or next what i am saying is, we did some things to improve our team, taking that step into being a top team in the NFL, last year was an absolute disaster, now with an O-Line, Keller, Henry, Stuckey, Coles, Cotch, and whatever Brad smith does... our passing game took a step forward.. especially with faneca and woody to runblock and create a well balanced offense for Clemens

I said it before and I'll say it again, the Jets look to be 8-8. (That is an improvement of 4 games).

Look at the schedule 2-2 vs. Miami and NE. 1-1 vs. the Bills. 2-2 vs. the NFC west. 2-2 vs. the AFC west. 1-1 vs. Cincy and the Titans. If Mangini can't do that he should be fired.

Obsession and lies? Your team lost a first round draft pick because Goodell saw the videotape of Pats pansies recording our signals. Just because sports media is keeping the story alive, in part because of the fishy business about destroying all evidence, doesn't mean you have to take it out on Gang Green. Consider yourself lucky that the head coach didn't get made an example of, he should have gotten suspended for the season.

But thats in the past (at least until the 13th), and we're talking about this coming season. Our defense got a lot better after the bye last year, and that was WITH Dewayne Robertson at tackle. Jenkins alone should make the pass rush more effective, but then we went out and got Pace and Ghoulston. Revis and Harris in their second season and the possibility of Just Miller or Lowry showing up as an effective #2 corner will really make for a formidable defense.

Face it 18-1'ers, your boys are going to be morally dejected this season and come up with a loss by week 2, latest. You're toast!

When anyone has links arguing against Rick Reilly et al. My profile allows Private Messages.

To real fans.

Gee, is everyone as bright as a Raider fan discussing the Tuck Rule conspiracy. :)

Now argue with Rick Reilly, Howie Long, John Czarnacki, etc.

...

So, you're basically stating that Pace Gholston and Jenkins are question marks. Fine, they are. But the upside is enormous when comparing those players to victor hobson (are you guys happy to have hiM?) d-rob and...bowens? It's too early to make any big predictions about the seaons, but anything can happen and the Pats have surely not locked up the 2008 AFCeast simply based on last years success (in the regular season -- because you guys didn't win the superbowl, you made it there......but you didn't win)

say it with me guys

JETS JETS JETS!

Side bet Gholston starts because he has no one in front of him. If Mayo starts we compare the two in terms of impact.

Now one can not compare an inside and an outside LB directly, so we will go by the honor system based on what we see. If I agree Golston is better, I'll go to that Jets board and start a thread on how much I, a Patriots fan, think the Jets got the better of the draft. If you agree Mayo is better you start a thread here saying how the Patriots got the better LB in the draft. That is assuming Mayo get meaningful minutes, which he may not.

If Jets doesn't improve its record in 08 season, Mangini could be gone.

They will clearly improve their record from the past season. They had no o-line and lost many of their games by a play or two. I'm very happy with the Mangini-MrT. combo and I think they'll be in NY for a long time.

And to the dude who posted all those links, I'm sorry you went through the trouble, I'm not going to read them. But, it seems like at least one of them is a "but....other teams did it!" kind of justification. Sorry, that just doesn't cut it. It doesn't justify using steroids in baseball and certainly doesn't justify signal taping. Why don't you just suck it up like a man and admit your team did something that violated the rules in order to get a competitive advantage? They would have found much success without this method, but they chose to do it and payed a price. You don't need to plaster the page with all these hyperlinks to show why the new england patsies can do no wrong.

I love dictionary.com so I decided to visit that link of yours, castle*****.

"5. to violate rules or regulations: He cheats at cards. The patriots cheat at football"

okay, maybe I added that last example, but it was only to clarify usage!

Can you tell us all just what rules were broken?

Yes, the Jets are awesome. The are clearly the best team in the AFC. Wow, what a roster! 19 - 0

the rule that said don't cheat.

It's always good when a new Jets fan comes to the board. It reminds us all just how ridiculous that fan base is. It makes me feel bad for the Jets players, though. They have a lousy owner, they're not even the #1 football team in their own stadium, and they have the worst fans in the NFL. Getting drafted by the Jets must be as joyous an occasion as being told you've contracted herpes.

Good breakdown. IMO Gholston is going to struggle as a rookie. He's a one trick pony.

Typical asshat. "I won't look at anything just continue to glory in my ignorance."

See why people like you are not worth arguing with? Hand you stuff and you admit to being a lazy turd.

Argue with Czarnecki, Reilly, Long, et. al.

Ok numbnuts#1jetfan,

Let me add to the definition of stupid. 8 A person who refuses to read a short, humorous article by Rick Reilly when he was at SI.

the rule that said don't cheat.
Liar.

It was the rule about camera placement.

We'd give you the rule, not the memo, but you would not read it. You already admitted to being a lazy turd who prefers his ignorance.

Oh BTW, it is the rule the Jets violated at Foxboro but got away with. I'd link to the story, but, well, you know who is in the mirror.

No, they lose to teams that cheat! Like last year there were 10 of them! (Pats and Bills had cameras lout of position twice!)

It is obsession when jets loser fans cry and boo even during the draft. The JETS fans are so pathetic. The less we talk about losers of NY media. Do the NY newspapers hire anyone with double digit IQ? Is single digit IQ a limit for those sports specialists in NY?

fishy business about destroying all evidence

This is the exact example of obsession and lies. I understand you can't help yourself. PATS did not destroy any tapes. NFL commisioner did for whatever reasons he said he did. Now a conspiracy theory about it. You wackos have any life?

Consider yourself lucky that the head coach didn't get made an example of, he should have gotten suspended for the season.

again... obsession, obsession, obsession ....

Don't worry about our coach. When your season ends with 6-10 or at best 7-9 next year after spending all the money, your coach manGINA will be suspended by your owner for ever.

talk about obsession. You guys are stopping to insulting my sports media reporters and journalists. Are you serious? Do you think I'm going to stick up for them? Wow. Your anti-NY obsession is clearly so deep rooted, a couple of you probably need to see a shrink.

And Castledong, royal-jerkoff, did you really need to make eight different posts to address one? Someone wants to gain some internet-cred by having a large post count. Maybe to make up for some other deficiencies? Anyhow, yes, I admit it, as of now the Jets are the second best team in our own house. But that's really only because last year, the Giants won the Superbowl and proved to be World Champions. Which makes them better than every other team in the league, that season, mostly clearly versus the team they actually played and smashed in the Superbowl.

Yeah, more of the same gahbage about the camera stuff. "Other people did it too, that makes it okay!" -- So the Jets did it too, eh? I'm sure your link to that information would look something like "http://www.bostonblog.com" -- But I have even less interest in reading a homer link like that. Did it sting when the 31st pick finished in the draft and you thought to yourself "Hmm we would have had another started coming to the team right now if coach wasn't a bonehead"? I'm asking you, as a Jets fan, to please move on. It's in the past. Your team has payed their punishment and now there's only next season. Let's just enjoy training camp and watch how the season unfolds.

The Jets suck, Gholston won't be good for another year, and the Patriots will own the AFC East for as long as Brady is the QB. Just the simple facts.

I WISH the Jets could compete with the Pats, but I don't see it happening in the Brady era. Actually, I could see the Dolphins or the Bills stepping up sooner than the Jets because both of those teams are adding and subtracting guys at a far faster rate than the Jets. You never know when one guy will come in and make a great improvement for the whole team.

PS. Pennington is a joke.
