Agreeing on a new deal was a top priority for Washington, who enjoyed his first season with the Patriots after spending the first four years of his career with the Bengals.
Washington didn't see much playing time on offense -- he played in only 37 snaps all season -- but was a consistent presence on special teams. Coach Bill Belichick often said that Washington could be counted on at receiver if called upon, but Washington seemed to be a victim of the team's depth at that spot.
