Interesting tidbit from Jeff Howe, things have changed quite a bit in how rookies are developed and acclimated to all things NFL....

I wish there was a book chronicling what happens next for these draftees, do the Pats help them with housing, per diem etc. or are they on their own?? What role do the veterans play?? Does the NFLPA help them? It is that inquiring minds thing...

Now, the rookies will arrive today and jump straight into the final six weeks of the offseason program tomorrow. Obviously, they'll grow at a different pace, but such is life in the league with a delayed draft.

"They’ll come in (Sunday), and we’ll start work with them Monday," Bill Belichick said last night. "We’ll put them in with our veteran players and just move right along. There’s no big -– like before when we had the rookie minicamps and sent them home. Now the draft is so late, we’ll just bring them in and keep them here. They’ll go all the way through the veteran minicamp in June. It will be just one straight shot. They’re going to have to come in and get oriented to living in a new area, getting transportation, finding their way around, becoming acclimated to New England. Along with the pro football part of it and all that. That’ll just be part of the whole next five or six weeks or whatever it is. It’ll be part of that whole process and we’ll start Monday."
