I've been arguing this all day and I'm a moron. Manning isn't a first ballot guy either.
Manning not being a first ballot hall of fame is ridiculous. He clearly has earned that privilege
I believe we allow too many HOFers and too many first ballot HOF.
First ballot HOF is the highest honor in the sport and a lot of the guys who got it don't deserve it and a few players should have got it who didn't.
Let Favre get in on the 2nd ballot. They won't... but he should.
IMO a FBHOF should be for guys like John Hannah, Lawrence Taylor, Tom Brady. Jerry Rice, Reggie White, Joe Montana. Guys of that level. The absolute best of the best.
I would say really IMO maybe only 30 guys deserve the honor as of now in all of football history.
I don't think he should be.
The only QBs I think should be FBHOFers are
For sure
Brady/Montana
Probably
Staubach/Unitas/Starr
Manning has too many question marks with his career to deserve the honor.
The entire notion of "not worthy of being a first ballot HOFer" is asinine. You're either worthy of being in the Hall, or you aren't. After that, it should just be a matter of numbers. Any voter, from any sport, who withholds a vote because someone isn't "first ballot worthy" should immediately, and permanently, stripped of all voting privileges.
Ok we have to agree to disagree on that one
A guy who has played as long as manning who has a Super Bowl ring/MVP. 5 NFL Mvps and holds every major passing record should first ballot
Manning is definitely a 1st ballot. So's Dan Marino.
No he isn't. Playoff record dooms him. I do agree with Deus, either you are in or you aren't. That being the case, then Favre and Manning and Marino are out.
Montana, Brady and Graham are in. Easy.
