I just watched the 2012 season opener against the Titans. There was absolutely no resistance from the defense. The Patriots offense did what they wanted. That team actually scored 59 points against Luck and the Colts that year.
I looked up the stats. Holy moly. That was one of the top scoring offenses of all time in NFL history. Brady had around 35 TD throws, but they scored 26 TDs on the ground. 4 rushing TDs by Brady. I looked up the MVP Aaron Rodgers' numbers that year. He had 39 TDs throws. Very good, very impressive. But the Packers only scored 7 TDs on the ground.
The Patriots scoring rate/avg. was through the roof.
And the way Brady played, with so much snap in his step and in his throws, gave me huge confidence. Such a shame that injuries derailed that season, because that offense rivaled 2007s.
