The Pats have played that "no respect" card for a long time, but who in your opinion is an unsung patriot? A guy who doesn't ever show up in highlights or rack up amazing stats but helps the team win games?

I used to claim Izzo but it seems people have caught on to Izzo and his Special Teams prowess. For nostalgic reasons, I'm a Kevin Faulk fan, I just think when he's on and clicking (and not fumbling footballs...:( ) Hes as good of a backup as there is in the NFL...

Ty Warren. People are beginning to respect him more now, but I think he still doesn't get the respect that he deserves. He doesn't produce huge sack numbers or anything, but solidifies the line consistently with Pro Bowl caliber performance. Wilfork and Seymour still get more hype but he could arguably be the best defensive lineman we have on our team IMHO.

Chad scott, He can play multiple positions, he is a wrapup hard tackler, has moderate hands is slowing down a little but if he needs to start in a pinch i'm not scared he's gonna get starked for a big play.

No stats and no highlight reels? Easy, Big Vince.

    #15 Jersey

Last year I'd go with Reche Caldwell and Asante Samuel. 2 guys who's expectations were low but stepped up big time.

Honorable mention to Troy Brown who is the ultimate unsung hero every year.

Troy Brown, no question. He does whatever the team asks, never asks for more money, and is the definition of a team player.

A few exceptions notwithstanding, the most unsung player on just about every team is usually on the offensive line.

    My vote is for Koppen.

The most unsung has to be Koppen.

If he wasn't a Bronc-ho now, I'd have cast my vote for Dan Graham.

    Patrick Pass.

    (take that, spacecrime! :D)

    Seriously though, I'd say Colvin.

    H'mmm, in 2006:

Hawkins on Special Teams and as a reserve Safety.
    Woods on Special Teams.
    Mays on Special Teams.
Spann on the Special Teams/Practice Squad yo-yo.
Evans has been filling a leadership role in addition to his play.
Izzo because he is another team leader who does more than play.
Scott because he was making plays and starting 9 games and no one really noticed.
Childress for hanging on and working hard, and being the "other" Troy Brown-type WR who could be lined up anywhere/anywhen as he was in the Jax game before his injury.
Kight for hanging on and working hard.
Santonio Thomas for two years of Practice Squad DL.
Alexander for surviving and improving enough to earn a start (at a really bad time for your first start), then was all over making tackles as things fell apart around him - no quit in that bubba.
Britt for being the best 6'8" reserve OT in the league.
Hochstein for being a great metaphor.
Mruczkowski for never saying die hisownself.

It kind of wears on you trying to find that one player who did his job better than anyone else. Since I'm tuckered out, Lonnie Paxton gets my vote.

I gave "honarable mention" to Trow Brown earlier and I realized Tedy Bruschi should be listed, too.

He led the team in tackles, had 1.5 sacks, an INT and 2 FR. After a stroke and a comeback this guy is still a playmaker. We're lucky to still have him in our LB core.

Reche "Mr. Eyes" Caldwell last year. Dollar for Dollar the best player on the team last year.

    Chidi Iwuoma.

Nobody ever wrote about him because they were afraid of misspelling his name.

Its a shame too because for an unsung guy, Iwuoma has a very musical name.

Lonnie Paxton. What's more unsung than the long snapper.

I say Tom Brady. He may not seem all that unsung but he doesnt get enough credit for all he does.
