"Vinatieri changed agents from Neil Cornrich to Gary Uberstine over the weekend, and the Packers, who thought they were competing only with the Patriots, soon found themselves outbid by the Colts. According to a source familiar with the agreement, Vinatieri received a five-year deal that was worth $7.5 million over the first three years, $9.6 million over the first four, and included a $3.5 million signing bonus.
By most accounts it is the richest deal ever for a kicker, surpassing the five-year, $10 million contract (including a $3 million signing bonus) former Packer Ryan Longwell recently signed with the Minnesota Vikings. The Packers are thought to have offered more to Vinatieri than what Longwell received but not as much as the Colts."
Later in the article the Packers GM also offers some insight on some of the developing kickers (including some in NFLE) they may look at.
