8 more years, please.
If, indeed, I'm called a "homer" by those 2 morons, I'll gladly wear that as a badger of honor. "Homer" - the ultimate disparaging label pinned on those who have the audacity to root for and love their hometown teams. My God, what a crime. The real crime is committed by those who can't possibly bring themselves to enjoy the success of a local team. Shank and Felger and Borges, et al, liked it better when the Pats sucked year after year, the Red Sox always choked, the Bruins were cheap and didn't care about winning and the Celtics glory days were over in the '80s. Well, all of the teams don't win every year and there are down times. But every one of them, I believe, is committed to winning and that's good enough for me. The contrarians can go screw themselves and kiss my ***. Move to Buffalo. You will be called a BB homer by those 2 and they will just use this article to point out all the -ve things people have said too about him and sweeping call all pats fans .
Bill Belichick fact: There’s a proper way to do a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Belichick spreads peanut butter on both slices of bread. That way the jelly does not seep through.
As Peter Gammons once said, the Boston Media takes great pride in making tough for its local teams and their players and coaches as if their reputation is built on being tough guys to the sports persons. If, indeed, I'm called a "homer" by those 2 morons, I'll gladly wear that as a badger of honor. SVN, I saw that Tanguay idiocy earlier on CSSNE. Tanguay is a moron who scurries like a little mouse to catch up with Squeaky and the Douchebag in the contrarian department. I met Tanguay a few years ago at Vince Wilfork's draft day party at Pinz in Milford. It was absolutely stunning how stupid he was/is. I had the pleasure of speaking with him and Adalius Thomas at the same time. Now, that was a freaking illuminating discussion...As Peter Gammons once said, the Boston Media takes great pride in making tough for its local teams and their players and coaches as if their reputation is built on being tough guys to the sports persons.
It craws their neck that despite all the crap thrown at them the pats and BB still keep winning year after year.
Look at the article on CSNNE by Gary Tanguay. He says if pats lose #1 seed, its a choke job(!). Seriously ? But thats how they are unfortunately.
LOL. Just to be clear I dont consider tanguay even a sports guy. He just has that job for some reason. Good for him. I think Jerry Thorton once took down CHB in a an epic radio piece he accurately said that BB's arrival and success had turned the tables on the boston media where they constantly enjoyed being the kings to the bottom of the pyramid.SVN, I saw that Tanguay idiocy earlier on CSSNE. The gravitas BB carries among the players is stark. Is there another coach in the league in the last 10 years that a player would say 'I didn't want to disappoint him' to another team's coach?
It's that gravitas that is one of the keys to playing a game like KC but then playing the next 8. Players buy into the BB program. It's one of the keys to see a team through turmoil but always have them right in the thick of it by season's end.
So BB will coach the Patriots no more than 7 seasons. Assuming that's BB plan this, obviously, will run past the retirement of Brady. BB will have the chance to see the Patriots to success in the post Brady era. And if he's able to continue the success post Brady, BB goes from 'possily the best coach of the modern era' to 'the best coach of the modern era...... and possibly the best coach of all time'.

I couldn't find the quote but one of my favorite quotes from a player is Alge Crumpler when asked about the hype of the team and said "I only read the Bill Belichick times"
classic

No, at least not in my book. I disagree with things BB and the Pats do at times, particularly in the personnel area. A contrarian, to me, is someone who often, if not always, takes a position s/he knows is contrary to popular opinion even when s/he knows that position is likely incorrect. It's done purposely in order for that person to stand apart from the crowd. Just my definition because you requested it.If a person disagrees with something done by Belichick, the Pats, or any of the other teams, does that person qualify as a contrarian? There are definitely two things in the article that I disagree with.

LOL! Believe me, my college years were from 66-70 - I have significant experience expressing dissent!Thank you J2. I disagreed with a couple of things in that article and wasn't sure how it would be taken.
