All I can say is, that was an impressive heads-up play by Blue: tackle, fumble, recovery, TD. :rocker:

[Semi-obligatory Welker note: anyone else impressed last week when Welker made the immediate switchover from WR mode to DB mode after Brady's INT last week? Despite being tackled himself, Welker still brought the Bengals DB down after just two yards.]

Yup - the trifecta!

I have always liked Blue since 04 and I am really liking him now. I was so upset that he got injured two years in a row. I was excited that we resigned him after 2006 and he has done a very good job. I think he can be a very solid starter for us next year when we will likely lose Asante.

I loved the play on Winslow!

Isn't he just signed for one year?

i think he is one of the sure tacklers on the team

Yeah but I'd assume we'd resign him especially if we are going to lose Asante.
Glad your feeling so sure about it. I'll be happy once I actually see it get done. Too much can happen after a sparkling season. Other teams can dangle some big cash.

Tackle, fumble, recovery, TD, cover the -16.5 spread

Why do we call Gay "blue"? Can someone fill me in. I've been on this forum for a year and a half and just have never questioned it.

Don't remember how he got it, but that's his nickname; even his teammates call him that.

Hmm, interesting. I've googled and yet to find out where the nickname originated.

Nobody knows how he got the name, including Gay himself. He was quoted in the southcoasttimes (oct. 2004?) as saying he doesn't know. His mother, grandmother, uncles, etc. either all take credit or have different stories on the origin. He always thought it was his real name until he learned otherwise.

Found it: http://archive.southcoasttoday.com/daily/12-04/12-20-04/c03sp391.htm

Scroll to "What's in a Name..."

I do hope they sign him for a few years..a tough player..smart and he'll be a bright spot if injury free...

Maybe because it's so much better than the alternative.

I bet it was old school.

YOUR MY BOY, BLUE!

I , too, loved that play , esp since I thought I had taken 34-17 . Turns out I took 27-17...which is what it was. Be careful what you root for!!
