It would have been sweet, but the aftertaste would not.
For the Patriots to take the high road and Goodell to obviously be uncomfortable makes him a loser in a PR blowout. Some fans may start slowly come around to see DeflateGate as the raw deal it was. Muhammed Ali was hated, but in time got respect. Kraft came closest to putting it in Goodell's face, but only with a small hint.
If any of them did more, it would have fueled the Hatriots. Even at Cowboys Zone, it seems most have conceded Brady is the GOAT as much as some of them HATE the Pats....any moment they will probably start a thread about getting Lombardi #6 ahead of the Pats.
It's ancient history now, but 2005 or 2006, an article characterized the Patriots as bland, boring, smart, extremely efficient, not very hateable - the Toyota of the NFL. Things have changed.
